The article is composed of three parts. The first part is an introductory description of relations between methods of research and the development of geography as a science and covers the issue of a methodological breakthrough related to the quantification of geography. The second section outlines the progress in the development of the quantitative direction in global geography. The third part includes the description of the activities, achievements and the role of the Poznań socio-economic geographical centre in the particular phases of the mathematisation of geography.

Artykuł składa się z trzech części. Część pierwsza zawiera wstępne omówienie relacji między metodami postępowania badawczego a rozwojem geografii jako nauki oraz obejmuje zagadnienie przełomu metodologicznego związanego z kwantyfikacją geografii. W części drugiej przedstawiono w zarysie postęp w rozwoju kierunku ilościowego w geografii światowej. Część trzecia dotyczy aktywności, osiągnięć i roli poznańskiego ośrodka geografii społeczno-ekonomicznej w poszczególnych fazach matematyzacji geografii.

Artykuł przedstawia klasyfikator problemów badawczych w naukach o zarządzaniu oraz będące podstawą jego opracowania definicje problemu oraz jego trzech rodzajów – problemów badawczych, naukowych i praktycznych. Wskazuje ponadto na metody służące do ich rozwiązywania. Wszystkie rozważania są prowadzone w kontekście filozofii nauki i metodologii ogólnej oraz dorobku nauk empirycznych i nauk o zarządzaniu. Zawarte w artykule propozycje pozwolą, jak się wydaje, na uporządkowanie tego elementu pracy naukowej.

The article presents a classifier of the research problems in management sciences. It is based on the definitions of the problem and its three types – research, scientific and practical problems, and indicates the methods used to solve them in management sciences. Considerations are made from the perspective of the philosophy of science and general methodology, as well as considering the achievements of the empirical sciences and management sciences. The provided propositions are helpful for ordering the scientific problem being investigated in the paper.
