Tekst odnosi się do edukacji estetycznej społeczeństwa. Pierwsza jego część akcentuje przedmiot badań estetyki jako nauki i jej podstawowe kategorie. Podkreślona została waga przeżyć estetycznych w życiu człowieka . Przyczyną przemian i sporów, jakie mają miejsce w estetyce, jest twórczość neoawangardowa drugiej połowy XX wieku. Kwestionuje ona część paradygmatów estetycznych. Do zrozumienia sztuki współczesnej, potrzebna jest umiejętność odbioru i interpretacji sztuki współczesnej. Aby podnosić poziom kultury estetycznej społeczeństwa, należy rozwijać wrażliwość zarówno na wartości trwałe, jak też na artystyczne nowatorstwo. Artykuł opisuje składniki kultury estetycznej człowieka (wrażliwość estetyczną, doświadczenia, wiedzę z zakresu historii i teorii sztuki). Szczególnie akcentuje umiejętność włączania sztuki w całokształt jednostkowego życia

The text concerns the society’s aesthetic education. The first part stresses the subject of aesthetics of a science and its basic categories. The importance of aesthetic experiences in a human life has also been emphasised. The main cause of changes and disputes taking place in aesthetics is the artistic work of the new avant-garde of the second half of the 20th century. It questions a part of aesthetic paradigms. In order to understand the modern art one needs the ability to acquire and interpret this modern art. In order to increase the level of aesthetic culture among the society, there is a need to develop the sensitivity to both constant values as well as artistic innovations. The article describes the components of aesthetic culture of a person (aesthetic sensitivity, experience, the knowledge concerning history and theory of art). It especially stresses the ability to incorporate art into the entirety of an individual’s life.
