Autor w artykule podejmuje kwestie dotyczące zagrożeń we współczesnym świecie dla tradycyjnie pojmowanej dorosłości człowieka. Poddaje krytycznej analizie system pracy i jego negatywny wpływ na dobrostan człowieka dorosłego. Interpretuje wybrane zagadnienia dotyczące życia człowieka w świecie pełnym możliwości a zarazem niepewności. Zwraca również uwagę na nietrwałość więzi międzyludzkich, wskazując przy tym na bariery utrudniające budowanie dojrzałych relacji interpersonalnych. W konkluzji stwierdza, że dojrzałość i doświadczenie, jako cechy tradycyjnie postrzeganej dorosłości, w dobie współczesnej mogą stanowić przeszkodę w otwartości dorosłych na nowe bodźce i alternatywne sposoby myślenia.

In this article, the author explores the problem of threats of the modern world to the traditionally understood adulthood. He critically analyses employment system and its negative impact on welfare of adults. Interprets selected issues concerning human life in a world full of possibilities, and at the same time uncertainty. He also draws attention to the lability of relationships, indicating at the same time barriers to building mature interpersonal relationships. Finally concludes that the maturity and experience, as a feature of traditionally perceived adulthood, in today could hinder the openness of adults to new stimuli and alternative ways of thinking.
