W dobie zmieniającego się społeczeństwa rośnie rola rynku najmu mieszkań w zaspokajaniu potrzeb mieszkaniowych. Na wzrastające znaczenie tego segmentu ma wpływ nie tylko dynamicznie zmieniający się rynek pracy i związana z tym mobilność społeczeństwa, ale również ostatnie doświadczenia związane ze światowym kryzysem. Wydarzenia te pokazały bowiem, iż dobrze rozwinięty rynek najmu jest w stanie zapewnić stabilność gospodarczą. Rynek najmu jest istotny nie tylko z punktu widzenia gospodarki, ale również całego społeczeństwa. W Polsce sektor ten nie jest tak rozwinięty i duży, jak w innych krajach europejskich. Nawet rządowe programy mieszkaniowe wprowadzone w latach 90. nie przyczyniły się znacząco do jego rozwoju. Mimo to perspektywy rozwoju tego segmentu mieszkaniowego są optymistyczne. Obecny program rządowy ,,Mieszkanie Plus” jest jednym z elementów mogących w sposób istotny wpłynąć na dalsze kształtowanie się tego rynku.

In the era of changing society, the importance of the rental market is growing in meeting housing needs. The growing importance of this segment is influenced not only by the dynamically changing labor market and the associated occupational mobility, but also by recent experience related to the global crisis. These events showed that a well-developed rental market is able to ensure economic stability. The rental market is important not only from the point of view of the economy, but also the entire society. In Poland, this sector is not as developed and large as in other European countries. Even government housing programs introduced in the 90s did not significantly contribute to the development of the rental market. Despite this, the prospects for the development of this residential segment are optimistic. The current government program “Mieszkanie Plus” is one of the elements that could significantly affect the further development of this market.
