From 2 to 4 May 2023 an international scientific conference entitled “Relevance and listening: communicating the Christian message in the plurality of contemporary voices” was held in Rome. The meeting was organised by the Department of Institutional Social Communication of the Pontifical University of the Holy Cross in Rome. The aim of the conference was to analyse the challenges related to the proper understanding and implementation of institutional communication processes of ecclesiastical institutions in the perspective of the contemporary socio-political and cultural context. The conference’s main speakers were, among others, Prof. Jim Macnamara (University of Technology of Sydney), Prof. José María La Porte (Pontificia Università della Santa Croce), Prof. Benedetto Ippolito (Università Roma Tre) and Prof. Lorenzo Cantoni (Università della Svizzera Italiana).

W dniach 2-4 maja 2023 r. w Rzymie odbyła się międzynarodowa konferencja naukowa pt. „Znaczenie a słuchanie: przekazywanie Chrześcijańskiego przesłania przy mnogości współczesnych głosów”. Spotkanie zostało zorganizowane przez Katedrę Instytucjonalnej Komunikacji Społecznej Papieskiego Uniwersytetu Świętego Krzyża w Rzymie. Celem konferencji była analiza wyzwań związanych z właściwym zrozumieniem i realizacją procesów komunikacji instytucjonalnej instytucji kościelnych w perspektywie współczesnego kontekstu społeczno-politycznego i kulturowego. Głównymi prelegentami konferencji byli m.in. prof. Jim Macnamara (University of Technology of Sydney), prof. José María La Porte (Pontificia Università della Santa Croce), prof. Benedetto Ippolito (Università Roma Tre) oraz prof. Lorenzo Cantoni (Università della Svizzera Italiana).

In den Tagen vom 2. bis 4. Mai 2023 fand in Rom eine internationale wissenschaftliche Tagung zum Thema „Relevance and listening: communicating the Christian message in the plurality of contemporary voices“ („Relevanz und Zuhören: Die Kommunikation der christlichen Botschaft inmitten der Vielfalt zeitgenössischer Stimmen“) statt. Die Tagung wurde vom Lehrstuhl für Institutionelle Soziale Kommunikation der Päpstlichen Universität Santa Croce in Rom organisiert. Das Ziel der Tagung war die Analyse der Herausforderungen im Zusammenhang mit dem angemessenen Verständnis und der Umsetzung von Prozessen institutioneller Kommunikation kirchlicher Einrichtungen im Kontext der zeitgenössischen sozio-politischen und kulturellen Realität. Zu den Hauptrednern der Konferenz gehörten unter anderem Prof. Jim Macnamara (Technologische Universität in Sydney / University of Technology Sydney), Prof. José María La Porte (Päpstliche Universität Santa Croce / Pontificia Università della Santa Croce), Prof. Benedetto Ippolito (Universität Rom III / Università Roma Tre) und Prof. Lorenzo Cantoni (Universität der Italienischen Schweiz / Università della Svizzera Italiana).

Opublikowana w 2016 r. monografia Marleny Jabłońskiej Nowe wyzwania archiwów. Komunikacja społeczna i public relations, może zainteresować nie tylko archiwistów, będących jej głównymi adresatami, lecz także bibliotekarzy. Stanowi ona modelową propozycję ukazania komunikacji społecznej i public relations w całokształcie działań realizowanych przez archiwa, jako filozofii zarządzania, która powinna pozwolić na poprawę ich funkcjonowania i zmianę odbioru społecznego na znacznie lepszy. Zaproponowane rozwiązania mogą być wykorzystane w praktyce, oczywiście traktowane elastycznie i odpowiednio dostosowane do konkretnego archiwum, jego zasobu i potrzeb. To nowe spojrzenie na archiwa doskonale wpisuje się w przeobrażenia, jakie zachodzą w ostatnich latach w archiwach i ich otoczeniu. Rewolucja technologiczna, a zwłaszcza postępująca otwartość archiwów wymuszają zmiany w ich funkcjonowaniu i sięganie po coraz doskonalsze narzędzia zarządzania, z powodzeniem stosowane już przez pokrewne instytucje, w tym biblioteki. Praca została napisana ładnym, żywym językiem, miejscami nawet bardzo emocjonalnie. Świadczy to o zaangażowaniu autorki i jej przekonaniu o dużej wartości poruszanych kwestii i formułowanych propozycji. Trudne dla archiwistów kwestie zarządcze przedstawia w sposób jasny i zrozumiały. Treść wzbogacają liczne rysunki i tabele, które zostały opracowane przez autorkę. Stanowią doskonałą ilustrację przedstawianych zagadnień i ułatwiają lepsze zrozumienie wniosków i podsumowań. Książka została starannie przygotowana i opublikowana przez Wydawnictwo Naukowe UMK, które otrzymało za nią wyróżnienie w konkursie Stowarzyszenia Wydawców Szkół Wyższych w 2017 r.

The monograph Nowe wyzwania archiwów. Komunikacja społeczna i public relations by Marlena Jabłońska published in 2016 may attract the interest of not only archivists, but also librarians. It constitutes a model to show social communication and public relations as the philosophy of management in the context of activities carried out by archives, which should improve the archives’ work and change their social reception. The solutions suggested here may be used in practice; they should be treated with flexibility and adjusted to a given archive, its resources and needs. This new outlook on the archives overlaps with the changes that have been taking place in the archives in the recent years. Technological revolution entails modifications in the archives’ work, using more and more modern management tools, which have already been successfully employed by other institutions, including libraries. The monograph was written with a vivid and emotional language, which is the evidence of the author’s involvement in the subject matter and the proposals she puts forward. The management issues, so difficult for archivists, have been presented in a clear and transparent manner. The monograph also includes a number of drawings and tables prepared by the author. They illustrate the issues addressed in the monograph and make it easier to understand the conclusions. The books was carefully prepared and published by Wydawnictwo Naukowe UMK [the Scientific Publishing House of Nicolaus Copernics University], which received a distinction in the competition organized by the Association of Higher Education Publishers in 2017.

Die 2016 veröffentlichte Monografie Marlena Jabłońskas unter dem Titel „Nowe wyzwania archiwów. Komunikacja społeczna i public relations“ [„Die neuen Herausforderungen für die Archive. Die soziale Kommunikation und Publicrelations“] kann nicht nur für die Archivarinnen und Archivare, die ihre Hauptempfänger sind, sondern auch für die Bibliothekarinnen und Bibliothekare aufschlussreich sein. Sie ist ein vorbildlicher Vorschlag, um die soziale Kommunikation und Publicrelations im Zusammenhang mit allen Aufgaben der Archive zu schildern. Es ist eine Verwaltungsphilosophie, die es erlauben sollte, ihre Funktionsweise zu verbessern und die soziale Rezeption positiv zu beeinflussen. Die vorgeschlagenen Lösungen können in der Praxis genutzt werden, selbstverständlich flexibel betrachtet und entsprechend gut angepasst an ein bestimmtes Archiv, an seinen Bestand und seine Bedürfnisse. Dieser neue Blick auf die Archive entspricht sehr gut dem Wandel der Archive und ihrem Milieu in den letzten Jahren. Die technologische Revolution, insbesondere aber die immer größere Offenheit der Archive, erzwingen die Änderungen in ihrer Tätigkeit und die Verwendung immer besserer Verwaltungswerkzeuge, die bereits von verwandten Institutionen, darunter den Bibliotheken erfolgreich verwendet werden. Die Arbeit wurde in einer schönen, lebendigen Sprache verfasst, manchmal sogar sehr emotional. Das zeugt vom Engagement der Autorin und ihrer Überzeugung vom großen Wert der angesprochenen Fragen und formulierten Vorschläge. Die für die Archivare schwierigen Verwaltungsfragen schildert sie klar und verständlich. Den Inhalt bereichern zahlreiche Abbildungen und Tabellen, die von der Autorin bearbeitet wurden. Sie sind eine gute Bestätigung der erläuterten Fragen und erleichtern das Verständnis von Schlussfolgerungen und Zusammenfassungen. Das Buch wurde sorgfältig vorbereitet und veröffentlicht vom Wissenschaftlichen Verlag der Nikolaus-Kopernikus-Universität in Thorn, der dafür 2017 eine Auszeichnung im Wettbewerb des Verlegervereins der Hochschulen erhielt.
