staci BIZ w Polsce oraz wskazanie na zmiany zachodzące w działalności przedsiębiorstw z kapitałem zagranicznym w polskiej gospodarce. Ukazano główne koncepcje teoretyczne przepływów BIZ oraz analizę sytuacji bezpośrednich inwestycji zagranicznych w Polsce. Następnie zaprezentowano zmiany w działalności spółek z kapitałem zagranicznym, jakie nastąpiły w Polsce na przestrzeni ostatnich lat. Jak, zauważono, liczba przedsiębiorstw z kapitałem zagranicznym w 2011 r. w porównaniu do 2006 r. wzrosła ponad trzykrotnie. W tej grupie dominowały podmioty małe, tj. zatrudniające do 9 osób. Analiza struktury działalności podmiotów z kapitałem zagranicznym pokazuje znaczącą przewagę podmiotów w grupie handel i naprawa pojazdów samochodowych oraz przemysłu. Ważną informacją jest to, że większość tych podmiotów to inwestycje od podstaw (greenfield), czyli najbardziej pożądana forma zagranicznych inwestycji bezpośrednich. Firmy z kapitałem zagranicznym odgrywają również ważną rolę w polskim handlu zagranicz-nym. Są to przede wszystkim firmy z branży motoryzacyjnej oraz producenci RTV i AGD. W 2011 roku podmiotów importujących było 11 419, a wartość ich importu wyniosła 370 310,4 mln zł. W opracowaniu wykorzystano głównie ogólnodostępne dane GUS EUROSTAT oraz Raport o stanie gospodarki „Polska 2012”. Oceniając przedsiębiorstwa z kapitałem zagranicznym zwró-cono uwagę głównie na strukturę zatrudnienia, liczbę podmiotów, ich wielkość, skale ponoszo-nych nakładów, czy osiągany przychód oraz wartość obrotów z zagranicą.

The aim of this paper is to present the changes in capital flows in the form of FDI in Poland and to point out the changes occurring in the activity of enterprises with foreign capital in the Polish economy. The author outlines the main theoretical concepts of FDI flows and presents the analysis of the situation of foreign direct investment in Poland. Then the changes in the activities of compa-nies with foreign capital that occurred in Poland in recent years are presented. As it was noted, the number of companies with foreign capital in 2011 compared to 2006 increased more than three-fold. Small enterprises employing up to 9 people dominate in this group. The analysis of the struc-ture of business entities with foreign capital shows a significant advantage of entities in the indus-try of group trade and repair of motor vehicles and industry. The important information is that most of these enterprises are greenfield investments, which is the most desirable form of foreign direct investment. Companies with foreign capital also play an important role in Polish foreign trade. These are mainly companies from the automotive industry and manufacturers of electronics. In 2011, there were 11,419 importers and the value of imports amounted to 370310,4 million zł. The study is mainly based on public GUS EUROSTAT data and on the Report on the state of the economy “Poland 2012”. During the assessment of enterprises with foreign capital the main focus has been placed on the structure of employment, the number of entities, their size, the scale of expenditure, generated revenue and the value of foreign trade.
