The aim of this paper is to research the causes of the difficulties that Polish teachers encounter when studying the basic problems of the present. I draw attention to the difficulties in the interpretationof the mission and vision of modern education, including the methodology of the study. These issues are related to the ambiguity of the positions on the adopted meta assumptions, including the primacy of human over education. The position in relation to the adopted model of man is also missing. Civilization transformations generate many new problems which need to be consideved in theresearch, among other things, redundancy and diversity of information sources, reconstruction of axiological system. This results in the problem of the studies being undertaken.

Celem opracowania jest poszukiwanie przyczyn trudności polskich pedagogów związanych z badaniami podstawowych problemów współczesności. Zwracam uwagę na problemy w interpretacji misji i wizji współczesnej pedagogiki, w tym także na stosowaną metodologię badań. Kwestie te mają związek z niejednoznacznością stanowisk w sprawie przyjmowanych metazałożeń, w tym prymatu człowieka nad edukacją. Brakuje także stanowiska w odniesieniu do przyjmowanego modelu człowieka. Przemiany cywilizacyjne generują wiele nowych problemów koniecznych do uwzględnienia w badaniach, takich jak m.in. nadmiar informacji i zróżnicowanie ich źródeł oraz przebudowa systemu aksjologicznego. To rzutuje na problematykę podejmowanych badań.
