Środowiskowa ocena cyklu życia (LCA) jest techniką zarządzania środowiskowego, która ze względu na swój potencjał może znaleźć wiele obszarów zastosowań. W literaturze przedmiotu podkreśla się jej istotną rolę w aspekcie zwiększenia efektywności gospodarki odpadami. Niniejszy artykuł stanowi głos w dyskusji na ten temat, a jego nadrzędnym celem jest przedstawienie LCA w kontekście realizacji gospodarki o obiegu zamkniętym oraz ocena szans popularyzacji tej koncepcji w Polsce. Na podstawie wyników własnych badań ankietowych wykazano, iż zdecydowana większość respondentów wprawdzie zapewniła o poczuciu swojej świadomości ekologicznej, niemniej jednak niewiele ponad 60% ankietowanych zadeklarowało systematyczną segregację odpadów komunalnych. Budowanie zatem gospodarki o obiegu zamkniętym w Polsce wymaga zwiększenia zaangażowania społecznego oraz odpowiedniej edukacji w tym zakresie.

Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) is an environmental management technique, which provides a whole range of possible fields of application. In literature, it is emphasized that LCA playes a significant role in terms of increasing the efficiency of waste management. This article joins the discussion. Its aims are to present LCA in context of the Circular Economy and to assess the chances to popularize this concept in Poland. The presented results of the survey show that the majority of respondents asserted their environmental awareness, however, a little over 60% of respondents declared that they systematically segregate waste. Creating the Circular Economy in Poland therefore requires the public's involvement and an adequate education in this field.
