Obserwowany współcześnie w Polsce problem alkoholowy od wielu dekad ma ugruntowaną pozycję w katalogu problemów kwalifikowanych jako problemy społeczne. Zaprezentowane w niniejszym artykule wieloaspektowe konsekwencje tego problemu, tu dostrzegane zwłaszcza w wymiarze społecznym, potwierdzają tę tezę. Część z tych skutków pociąga za sobą bezpośrednie koszty, wydatki i straty mierzalne za pomocą uchwytnych wskaźników, część natomiast, ze względu na swój niematerialny charakter, wymyka się możliwości wymiernego oszacowania ich wielkości. Ich analiza dostarcza podstaw do niepokoju społecznego oraz obliguje do podjęcia działań zaradczych i profilaktycznych.

The alcohol problem in Poland has been well established in the catalog of problems, classified for many decades as social problems. Presented in this article analysis of multi-faceted consequences of this problem (perceived in social terms) confirm this view. Some of these consequences involve direct costs, measurable expenditures and losses by means of tangible indicators, some can’t be measured by their intangible nature. The analysis provides the basic for social anxiety and obliges to take remedial and preventive actions.
