Multiple concepts and approaches regarding disability have been created throughout the centuries, which is reflected in different fields of study such as philosophy, medicine, pedagogy, sociology, political science, theology, and psychology. It can be assumed that the development of these disciplines has laid the foundation of the concept of disability, thus creating the model of perceiving this condition. It is every human’s responsibility to make progress through the fulfillment of their life tasks and social roles in accordance with the legal and social standards. In this regard, a question arises on the extent to which a person’s disability affects the quality of their life. The life quality of disabled people is typically impacted by numerous factors. Next to parameters such as physical health, mental health, or functional factors, it is also influenced by a variety of micro-social and macro-social aspects, including the family situation of a disabled person, the economic situation in their home country, the existing legal regulations, and the specific social policies. Furthermore, the prevalent social attitudes toward the disabled are an equally important determinant of the quality of their life. People with disabilities are equal members of society and deserve to be fully included. However, suitable conditions need to be created to provide them with the hope for a dignified life and efforts need to be made to support them
