Tekst jest próbą odpowiedzi na pytanie, w jaki sposób przeszłość jest przywoływana w oddolnych inicjatywach społeczno-kulturalnych i jakie znaczenie nadają jej ich twórcy. Autorka opiera się na wynikach badań zrealizowanych w orientacji interpretatywnej, a jako ramę badawczą wykorzystuje fenomenologię społeczną Alfreda Schütza. Analizując inicjatywy, autorka wyróżniła cztery kategorie ich twórców nadających przeszłości odmienne znaczenie: zakorzenieni w tradycji; sentymentalni kolekcjonerzy przedmiotów przeszłości; odkrywcy przeszłości; (re)interpretatorzy.

The paper makes an attempt at answering the question in what way the past is recalled in bottom-up social and cultural initiatives and what meaning is ascribed to the past by their creators. The author draws upon the results of studies carried out using the interpretative orientation, and applies the social phenomenology of Alfred Schütz as a research framework. The author analyzed the initiatives and distinguished four categories of their creators, ascribing different meaning to the past: the rooted in tradition; sentimental collectors of the objects of past; explorers of future; (re)interpreters.
