The following text presents an attempt at showing factors which differ students’ sense of self-effectiveness in their careers. In the article it is presented the sense of self-effectiveness and its importance for the process of planning and development in the human being’s professional career. In order to recognize the relationship between the students’ sense of self-effectiveness in their careers (including confidence in general, own, life and professional competence, control of occurrences, competence of range in coordination of the different life spheres) and selected specific variability the author of this article has carried out the researches among the students from the state and public universities. This work presents their results which have showed that in various degree the variability like gender, mother’s education, estimate of economical situation in own family which was made by respondents, work which is simultaneous with studies and also the kind of professional experience differ students’ sense of self-effectiveness in their careers and its individual aspects. However, the factors like the results in studying which testing students achieve, the kind of secondary schools they have graduated from, the father’s education, the place where they live in do not differ the results, which the respondents achieve, in essential and statistical way.
In the common view, modern universities have lost their dominant position in education process of future generation. Higher education policy, which have caused devaluation of education itself, is considered to be the main reason for this situation. As a consequence, one of the most popular belief relating to academic education is a thesis, that universities educate future unemployed and their certifcates have, if at all, a little value on the labour market. As a result, this opinion influences the expectations from academic staff at the university, which is considered to be responsible for lack of high education level and low student engagement. The article presents selected data, showing student approach towards academic education, with an indication of the main grounds for lack of involvement both on student and teacher side.
The most of the theories and research presented in the article- despite of the fact they were developing during: a students’ revolt, a diffiult situation of graduates in a labor market, disappointment to educational institutions (e.g. universities) - show a positive inflence of an academic environment on students. The positive effects of studies are considered in the dimension of an individual and social life, in personal, cognitive and moral development of the student. In connection with legitimate concerns of pedagogues about possible negative effects of mass, commercialized and devoid of a humanistic context higher education, it is paid in the paper an attention on a large developmental potential of the student and on environmental conditions that may reduce the effects of the „bad” impact. It is also emphasized an importance of the student’s activity in the academic life and the skill of creating own strategies that can help to cope with the studies and may also protect from negligence of the higher education.

This article presents the experience of the Marie Curie-Skłodowska University in the field of universal design at the higher education level. Universal design in education assumes creating programs, materials, but also an environment accessible to students with different needs arising from the style of learning, age, health status, language skills, life and cultural experiences. The idea of universal design has been used in the preventive project "Good Life". The primary goal of the project was preventing suicidal behavior among academic youth. The activities undertaken in accordance with the idea of universal design were addressed to the entire academic community and were based on a four-link operation model: student, peer group, academic teachers, disabled persons' support team.

This study analysed how educational practices support the emancipatory experiences of parents and students at a Polish school 27 years after the change of the political system. The subject of examination were educational practices experienced in the classroom by two groups of educational society: early childhood pupils and the parents of children of this age. The data were obtained from the records of lessons and parent-teacher meetings at two schools: a small school and a large school. Four areas were identified in educational practice experiences by the examined participants: places, communication, knowledge and activities. Both pupils and parents experience the lack of the possibility of critical and emancipatory behaviour. Educational practices in the studied areas: places, communication, knowledge and activities are controlled solely by the teacher.
Aims. The aim of the study was to find out: 1. What is the pattern of diurnal preferences of university students (the pattern of diurnal preferences as quantities and distribution of diurnal preference types)? 2. Are sleep habits (sleep mode, hours of sleep and bedtime) conditioned by diurnal preferences? 3. Are preferred learning time and learning success conditioned by the types of diurnal preferences? Research sample and method. The research sample consisted of university students (n=96) administered by The Morningness-Eveningness Questionnaire MEQ (Horne, Östberg, 1976) and Sleeping Habits Questionnaire: Self-Statement Questionnaire SN - Sleeping Habits (Sarmány- Schuller, 1996). Hypotheses. Morning-type students have a more regular sleep mode compared to the eveningtype students. There exists a difference in the preferred learning time between morning-type and evening-type students. Morning-type students prefer learning during the day and the evening type students prefer learning in the evening. There is also a difference in the study success between the students of these chronotypes. Morning-type students have better average study results than the evening-type ones. Statistical analyses. Statistical processing methods were: A. Descriptive statistics (frequencies, percentage, minimum and maximum values, averages and standard deviations, median, histogram, bar chart, variability, pivot tables). B. Inferential statistics: t-test, chi-square homogeneity test, variance analysis, Kruskal-Wallis test, Cramer coefficient of contingency (V), coefficient of mean difference (d and eta), Bayes factor (BF). The obtained data were analyzed by SPSS and JASP. Research results. The distribution of the summation index of the students’ diurnal preferences refers to the normality of distribution. The distributions of the subjectively identified types of diurnal preferences are not statistically significantly different. At the level of the diurnal preference index, the subjectively identified types differ statistically significantly, but they differ only partially materially. The distributions according to sleep mode do not differ significantly as regards the types of diurnal preferences. The average sleep time is very similar in each type. Among the types of preferences, there is a statistically and materially significant difference between the average bedtimes. The distributions of preferred learning time and study results do not differ significantly regarding the types of diurnal preferences. Research limitations. The obtained data on the factors related to the study success are important. However the present conclusions regarding the sleep habits are processed solely on the basis of the self-assessment scale. The research results are valid only for the research sample under investigation.

Ciele. Cieľom štúdie bolo zistiť: 1. Aký je obraz diurnálnych preferencií vysokoškolských študentiek (obraz diurnálnych preferencií ako veličiny i distribúcia typov diurnálnych preferencií)? 2. Existuje podmienenosť spánkových návykov (spánkový režim, hodiny spánku a hodina ukladania sa k spánku) diurnálnymi preferenciami? 3. Existuje podmienenosť preferovanej doby učenia sa a študijnej úspešnosti typmi diurnálnych preferencií? Súbor a metóda. Výskumný súbor tvorili univerzitné študentky (n = 96), u ktorých autori administrovali Dotazník ranných a večerných typov (Horne, Östberg, 1976) a Sebavýpoveďovú škálu SN – Spánkové návyky (Sarmány- -Schuller, 1996). Hypotézy. Študentky s ranným chronotypom majú pravidelnejší spánkový režim v porovnaní so študentkami s večerným chronotypom. Medzi študentkami s ranným a večerným chronotypom existuje rozdiel v preferovanej dobe učenia sa. Ranný chronotyp preferuje dobu učenia sa cez deň a večerný chronotyp preferuje dobu učenia sa večer. Existuje medzi študentkami troch chronotypov rozdiel v študijnej úspešnosti. Ranný chronotyp má lepší priemerný prospech na rozdiel od večerného chronotypu. Štatistická analýza. Metódami štatistického spracovania boli: deskriptívna štatistika (frekvencie, percentá, minimálne a maximálne hodnoty, priemery a štandardné odchýlky, medián, histogram, krabičkový graf, variabilita, kontingenčné tabuľky). Inferenčná štatistika: t-test, chi-kvadrat test, analýza variancie. Kruskal-Wallisov test, Cramerov koeficient kontingencie (V), koeficient vecného rozdielu (d a eta), Bayesov faktor (BF). Získané dáta boli analyzované štatistickým programom SPSS a JASP.
The article deals with the ways of improving the training of modern students – future mathematics teachers to work with gifted pupils. Some methodological peculiarities and basic principles of organizing the work at SAS are being discussed in this work as well. It is pointed out that beginning the research, students should move from simple to complex, from identifying and fixing a specific issue to the scientific work, from learning-research to the research activity. The author proposes the multilevel model which is divided into three stages: the first stage – the audience of SAS perform, as a rule, mono study – they study some properties of a particular object within the same topic; the second stage – the applicants of SAS perform learning-research tasks which, as a rule, go beyond one specific topic that is beyond the mono subject research and acquire the overview nature; they are aimed at the gradual involvement of new students to mathematical questions; the third stage – the members of SAS begin the research work on the project under the guidance of the teacher, which requires knowledge of many subtle issues not only in the field of research and gradually takes on the characteristics of holistic scientific activity and ends with the preparation and defense of the thesis at the SAS contest of works. The author defines regulations on research tasks and their structure: pupil’s study must begin either from the textbook, or from classes; formulation of the research problem should not require significant additional training from the pupil; to build a research task for the pupil is more difficult than for the student; material required for the initial work on the problem, is quite easy to access for the pupils. It is stressed that the structure of pupil’s research is similar to a study conducted by an adult scientist and includes the following main stages: the selection and formulation of the problem (the choice of research themes); the hypothesizing, search and offer of possible solutions; the accumulation of material; the summary of findings and preparation of the project; the design of the project; the defense of the project.
This article is devoted to theoretical reflection on the situation of students in the university space. Nowadays in multicultural education it seems appropriate to study the needs and expectations of students in the development and support of their potential and to improve the quality of higher education. The author’s interest is focused on the case management method as the technology of the future used in higher education. Organizational chaos overwhelmed the quality management of student services, but also functioning of the higher education system requires modification. Case management is understood here as a method of managing and supporting the student’s potential in a personalized approach and enhancing the quality culture of higher education. The provision of services in higher education today is mainly a provision of knowledge, to a lesser extent a provision of skills and the least is skill-building of the student’s competences mainly in relation to the chosen field of study (the labor market). In the meantime, making possible for a student to enter the labor market is not the only function of higher education. There are still other tasks of higher education that are often neglected or not well organized in this space. The attempt to identify these didactic tasks of the higher education and proper implementation of them becomes an important goal to support the student’s potential in its overall development and to achieve a higher quality culture of higher education. The using of case management in the space of higher education is the development of technology for the management of university services for students/graduates in the unit dimension (student/graduate), organizational (university) and social/environmental dimensio
Background. The aim of the study was to determine the class hierarchy and to find out if there is a relationship between students’ physical fitness and their popularity in the class. Material and method. The research was carried out on fifth grade students of primary school. In the research the following techniques were employed: 1. classic sociometric techniques based on two criteria (personal ties, i.e. “mate at the same desk” and material ties, i.e. “class council”) and Korczak’s “plebiscite of kindness and reluctance”, 2. the physical fitness test by Z. Chromiński. Measurement of students’ motor performance was assessed by Chromiński’s test. The maximum number of points students could get in each trial was 100, and the minimum was 0. The student’s popularity in the class was calculated adding up the numbers of choices received in all three sociometric techniques. It was assumed that a popular student (with a high acceptance rate) is the one who accumulated the positive choices from at least half of the class and is not rejected (discarded) by more than 33% of his/her classmates. On the contrary, an unpopular student (with a very low or low acceptance rate) is one who received only negative choices, or was ignored in the selections (both positive and negative) or his ratio of positive and negative choices was 1 to 3. Conclusions. There was a low correlation found between students’ popularity and their physical fitness.
In my paper I would like to present the student and the teacher in educational space. I’d like to say about difficulties in communication between them and the search for a common language for dialogue. The context for this discussion will be the current socio- cultural space and the expectations of both the teacher and the student. The purpose of the text is to show the conditions through which the agreement between the student and the teacher is possible and identify a cultural experience of a common language. Considerations will be conducted from the perspective of the anthropological concept of education and subjective view of the student and the teacher.
