Jacek Sikorski, Diagnoza postępów w zakresie opanowania podstawowych umiejętności szkolnych uczennicy z umiarkowanym stopniem niepełnosprawności intelektualnej [The assessment of progress in acquiring the basic school skills by the studentwith a moderate intellectual disability]. Interdyscyplinarne Konteksty Pedagogiki Specjalnej, nr 22, Poznań 2018. Pp. 323-338. Adam Mickiewicz University Press. ISSN 2300-391X. DOI: https://doi.org/10.14746/ikps.2018.22.18 The following article takes up the issue of assessing intellectual disability from the interdisciplinary, especially psycho-pedagogical, point of view. It pays special attention to the moderate intellectually disabled students and the difficulties which they have in acquiring such basic school skills as reading, writing and counting. However, the main aim of the research was to show all the changes (progress) in the above-mentioned basic school skills in reference to the observed student with a moderate intellectual disability, which have occurred during the 10 months’ time as a result of applying both educational and therapeutic actions and an attempt to indicate the school’s education opportunities based on the results of the researchand teacher’s opinions.

The modern school is a particular place in the local society. It is an institution which not only develops and improves the youth’s personality but comes across contemporary challenges as well. Every educational institution, among its other basic duties, has to recognize social and civilisation problems and organise preventive treatment classes suited to the students’ needs. These preventive and educational activities can be conducted in cooperation with external partners, such as NGOs. This paper discusses the idea of supporting schools by associations in terms of conducting educational and preventive treatment activities aimed at students with intellectual disabilities
The aim of the article is to present the application of the project method at work with children with mild intellectual disability – with students of grades 1-3 of primary schools. The study consists of three parts. The first describes the project method in the theoretical aspect. In the second, the project method was presented regarding aspects of creativity. The theoretical and creative aspect of the project method was used to write the third part of the article, which presents its practical dimension - A place where I function and create. The work plan was created by students of Special Pedagogy at the Faculty of Pedagogical Sciences of the Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University in Warsaw and partly modified by me. The project has already been partially implemented in activities with students, and the fundamental conclusion that emerges from practice is that the project method work is an amazing tool to develop knowledge (ways to protect forests from littering), skills (creative thinking and action) and social competences (cooperation, communication, responsibility for task performance and sensitivity) of students with intellectual disabilities.

Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie zastosowania metody projektów w pracy z dziećmi z niepełnosprawnością intelektualną w stopniu lekkim – z uczniami klas I–III szkoły podstawowej. Opracowanie składa się z trzech części. W pierwszej opisano metodę projektów w aspekcie teoretycznym. W drugiej zaprezentowano metodę projektów w odniesieniu do aspektów twórczości. Teoretyczny i twórczy aspekt metody projektów posłużył do napisania trzeciej części artykułu, w której przedstawiono jej praktyczny wymiar – „Miejsce, w którym funkcjonuję i tworzę”. Plan pracy został wykreowany przez studentów Pedagogiki Specjalnej Wydziału Nauk Pedagogicznych Uniwersytetu Kardynała Stefana Wyszyńskiego w Warszawie i fragmentarycznie przeze mnie zmodyfikowany.
