The article describes the stylistic shape of biblical Polish language in the first half of 16th century. This stylistic aspect has been analyzed in two perspectives. The first one – the contemporary reception – shows several opinions of scientists, who work on the language of old Polish religious texts; the second perspective is the current language custom from the period of the texts’ creation. Materials for the second type of analysis were excerpted from the stylistic and language comments made upon creating the biblical texts by their authors and from the discussion led between Jan Sandecki-Malecki, Stanisław Murzynowski and Jan Seklucjan.
