The subject of research in this article is the feeling of burnout of teachers in the second stage of the COVID-19 epidemic in Poland. The research group was made up of a total of 172 teachers from the district of Radom. The Scale of Burnout of Forces of S. Steuden and W. Olya was used. The results of the study showed that the overall level of burnout is low, but the variables like school type, place of residence and seniority differentiated the obtained data. Statistically lower level of occupational burnout was characteristic of teachers working in secondary schools, living in the city and working for less than 15 years in the profession.

Przedmiotem badań w niniejszym artykule jest poczucie wypalenia zawodowego nauczycieli w drugim etapie epidemii COVID-19 w Polsce. Grupę badawczą stanowiło łącznie 172 nauczycieli z powiatu radomskiego. Zastosowano Skalę Wypalenia Sił (SWS) S. Steuden i W. Okły. Wyniki badań wykazały, iż ogólny poziom wypalenia sił jest niski, jednak zmienne: typ szkoły, miejsce zamieszkania i staż pracy zróżnicowały uzyskane dane. Istotnie statystycznie niższy stopień wypalenia sił cechował nauczycieli pracujących w szkołach ponadpodstawowych, zamieszkałych na terenie miasta i pracujących krócej niż 15 lat w zawodzie.

The purpose of the paper is to contribute to the literature on leadership, innovation and learning for quality of school education. The special attention is paid to the role of school principal leadership in creating and sustaining the innovative learning environments that support the development of critical practitioner research. It is assumed that practitioner research can promote creative partnerships between those institutions in which teachers and academics work in order to support knowledge creation and quality of teaching. This paper presents chosen findings of a study that involved interviews with a number of focus groups involving school leaders in a number of Polish state schools. The main aim of this research was to recognize the experiences and the needs of school principals concerning practitioner research, their perceptions on the role of school leaders in supporting culture for quality improvements in practitioner research, and on the conditions of mutual participation of academics and practitioners in the social process of creating educational knowledge. Findings direct our attention to the role of school principals and their leadership in creating the innovative learning environments that are favorable for mutual participation of academics and practitioners in the social process of educational knowledge creation

Potrzeba ewolucji w edukacji przedszkolnej i wczesnoszkolnej była głoszona w Polsce od lat. Jednak dopiero wybuch pandemii COVID-19 pokazał, że polska szkoła musi i może się zmienić. Uwzględnić należy m.in. indywidualizację kształcenia dzieci, podejście konstruktywistyczne, ocenianie kształtujące, stosowanie TIK, wspieranie samodzielności wychowanków. Mimo wyzwań i początkowych niepowodzeń również w edukacji przedszkolnej warto wyciągnąć wnioski z kształcenia zdalnego. Zdaniem studentek UTH w Radomiu – przyszłych nauczycieli edukacji elementarnej – korzyścią jest: wzrost kompetencji cyfrowych, podniesienie rangi współpracy wychowawców z rodzicami (a także strategii wspierania rodzin przedszkolaków), stosowanie tradycyjnych mediów, kreatywność nauczycieli.

The need for evolution in preschool and early childhood education has been announced in Poland for years. However, it was only the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic that proved Polish schools must and can change. Consideration should be given to the individualization of education, constructivist approach, formative assessment, use of ICT, and supporting pupils’ independence. Despite the challenges and initial setbacks, it is worth drawing conclusions from distance learning. According to the students of UTH in Radom – future teachers of elementary education – the positive aspects of the pandemic include growth in digital competences, development of cooperation between educators and parents (as well as development of the strategies to support pre-schoolers’ families), use of traditional media, and increased creativity of teachers.
