Early mathematical education in narrative contexts and the local environment

The article describes the implementation of the project that took the form of a teaching experiment. The “Myśleć jak architect” [en. “Think like an Architect”] project was aimed at developing children's spatial, mathematical and creative skills, integrating the social environment: academic, educational, family and cultural, and promoting science. Its essence was to design and conduct a mathematical and creative didactic cycle in the university space and in the local cultural space. The essence of educational meetings were: play, tasks, games and mathematical problems undertaken and solved by children in active and creative action, also using innovative teaching materials. The workshop didactic program was designed as a cycle of 12 hours of didactic classes, in which there was a deliberate use of rhymes, poems, fairy tales and mathematical narratives. The project lasted from November 2018 to May 2019. The beneficiaries of the project were the oldest pre-schoolers and younger students from grades I-III, in 9 groups, each consisting of 12 people. The study confirmed the effectiveness and attractiveness of integrating literature with mathematics and learning mathematics in various areas. The study has shown that the strategies for teacher management of construction play using narration are an important and effective ways of supporting the development of a child's mathematical thinking.

There are many factors that influence the scope and assimilation of knowledge that textbooks contain. Among the most important ones there are strategic places, the content of which contributes to the contextualization of utterance and on which the attention of the audience is focused. The position of text opening, that is the title or initial sentence, can be mentioned among them. The influence of the form of headlines and the contents on the effectiveness of the acquisition of knowledge from the texts is a result of cognitive processes, activated during the process of reading. It appears from the results of the research, that the application of full-thematic titles improves the effects of working with text. Headlines of that type control the cognitive energy in a better way and initiate more adequate cognitive schemata that allow for a more complete integration of received information. The influence of the title brings expected results, when it is reinforced by a suitable method of working with the text.

In diesem Beitrag werden Vorteile und Nachteile bestimmter Hilfsmittel (Wörterbücher, Paralleltexte und Internetquellen) beim Übersetzen besprochen. Die Autorin des Beitrags stellt Ergebnisse eines Experiments dar, das die Fachübersetzungs-Didaktik betrifft. Ferner werden die sich aus diesem Experiment ergebenden praktischen Implikationen für Fachübersetzungsun-terricht diskutiert. Außerdem wird auch ihr Einsatz bei der Ausbildung von angehenden Übersetzern prӓsentiert, um ihnen zu zeigen, wie man die geg-ebenen Hilfsmittel beim Übersetzen von Rechtstexten (Gerichtsurteilen) effek-tiv einsetzen kann.

This article discusses the advantages and disadvantages of the use of selected sources of the knowledge of translator (dictionaries, parallel texts and online resources) in translation, the results of the experiments in the scope of specialized translation teaching and the practical implications resulting for carrying out classes of specialist translations and educating translators of the ability to make effective use of the available sources of knowledge when trans-lating legal texts ‒ court judgments.

W niniejszym artykule omówiono wady i zalety wykorzystywania wybranych źródeł wiedzy tłumacza (słowników, tekstów paralelnych oraz zasobów internetowych) w przekładzie, przedstawiono wyniki eksperymentu z zakresu dydaktyki przekładu specjalistycznego i płynące z niego implikacje praktyczne dla prowadzenia zajęć z przekładu specjalistycznego oraz kształcenia u adeptów zawodu tłumacza umiejętności efektywnego wykorzystywania dostępnych źródeł wiedzy podczas tłumaczenia tekstów prawniczych ‒ wyroków sądowych.
