Nauka oraz systematyczne uczęszczanie do szkoły to dominująca aktywność dzieci i młodzieży w wieku 12–18 lat. Wśród nich jest określona grupa uczniów niedostosowanych społecznie, bądź też zagrożona tym zjawiskiem, która wymaga indywidualnego podejścia, a ich proces edukacji powinien uwzględniać posiadane przez tych nieletnich deficyty jak i poszukiwać ich mocnych stron. Szkoła w instytucji resocjalizacyjnej funkcjonuje według odmiennych reguł, a jednocześnie realizuje te same cele jak szkoła masowa: jej zadaniem jest przygotowanie wychowanków do samodzielnego funkcjonowania w środowisku – dalszej nauki lub podjęcia pracy. Działania edukacyjne są jednym z najważniejszych elementów procesu resocjalizacji nieletnich, a tym samym zwiększają efektywność prowadzonych wobec nieletnich działań opiekuńczo-wychowawczych.

The school and related activities is the dominant activity in the lives of students aged 12–18 years. Part of these students for various reasons do not deal with learning , come to this educational problems appear abnormal behavior, the difficult situation in the family. This group of students requires specific approaches and different ways of working with them. Part of the students of socially maladjusted goes to educational centers. The school in the institution works according to different rules in and at the same time has the same objectives as the general school. The most important task is to prepare students to function in an environment, further learning or work. Educational activities are one of the most important elements of the process of reintegration.
