The aim of the article is to analyze scientific resources and to describe social and pedagogical technologies of work with families. The methods of investigation are scientific resources analyses and data summarizing.The social-pedagogical technology is a means of interaction of a social pedagogue (a social worker) with a family that provides support and social services to it. The essence of the social-pedagogical technology is in driving the algorithm of specialist interaction with the family.The social-pedagogical family support is a special type of social-pedagogical activity directed at revealing, identifying and resolving problems between a child and others members of the family in order to provide and to protect family rights for child’s safe living, full-value development and education. The research literature analyses have shown that such family technologies as social guiding, family needs estimation, early intervention, crises intervention, services providence are well developed and actively implemented into practice. Social accommodation is a type of social work directed at social caring, help and patronage for socially unprotected categories of children and youth, aimed at overcoming everyday problems, support and increase of their social status. Family (a child’s and his family’s) needs evaluation technology is used with families that are in need and those who demand governmental support and social care. Needs evaluation is a process of gathering, summarizing and analyzing information given by social services providers. It concerns children’s, youth’s, family’s needs and their living conditions. This information helps to understand the amount of services needed to overcome difficult living circumstances. The technology of early intervention is directed at providing services to the family that brings up a child with special needs. The technology of crises intervention involves socially-pedagogical support in critical situations. All in all we can consider the guiding technology as the combining method of social work, because it involves and integrates other technologies of work with families despite the type of the family and its specifics.

If we look back, evaluating the last two centuries, the productive environments of our societies have experienced several industrial revolutions that caused great changes in production and that, in turn, generated important changes in societies at all times. Likewise, the digital transformation that has been incorporated into the bases of companies, each one in its measure, has not yet reached its maximum potential, but it has changed the way we live and, therefore, the way we work. Historically, automation has come from the hand of specialization, not because of the manufacture of tractors the land has been stopped, but more has been produced and that production has been managed in favor of employment and economic health. Technological transformations hand in hand with digitalization and artificial intelligence generate opportunities, but they also represent a threat to a good part of traditional jobs and professions, since changes are rapid and the impact of new technologies is much greater; thus, the change in the training and qualification of workers is necessary. Like the looms in the 18th century and the production models at the beginning of the 20th, digital transformation is our present, but it will be much more powerful in the future, as it entails and will entail a redefinition of the labor market and the law that governs it. regulates. Globalization and technological changes have generated a need to address labor law from a global perspective; Furthermore, this right must not only be active, but also effective, solid, in accordance with international decent work standards.

Research into the effective ways of motivating employees occupies an important place in the literature of the subject. For many years the research on motivation to work has mainly been focused on the payment. Nowadays, more and more attention is given to using the non-financial tools in the motivation process. Today, motivating employees to work in the hotel industry includes a number of personalized incentive instruments. The purpose of the study is to check what types of motivators are most often used by hotel managers in Poland to motivate line employees. The research has shown that hoteliers in Poland most often use such motivators as work atmosphere, interpersonal relations, showing respect, rewards and bonuses, salary, and flexible working hours, while the least used are those based on digital solutions that can support the daily work of employees, communication with colleagues and superiors and their development.

Ważne miejsce w literaturze przedmiotu zajmują analizy dotyczące skutecznych sposobów motywowania pracowników. Przez wiele lat badania nad motywacją do pracy dotyczyły głównie płac. Współcześnie coraz większą uwagę skupia się na wykorzystywaniu w procesie motywacji narzędzi pozafinansowych. Motywowanie pracowników do pracy w hotelu obejmuje obecnie wiele spersonalizowanych instrumentów motywacyjnych. Celem niniejszego opracowania jest sprawdzenie, jakiego rodzaju motywatory są najczęściej wykorzystywane przez zarządzających hotelami w Polsce w motywowaniu pracowników liniowych. Badania wykazały, że hotelarze w Polsce najczęściej stosują takie motywatory, jak atmosfera pracy, relacje interpersonalne, okazywanie szacunku i uznania, nagrody i premie, wynagrodzenie, elastyczny czas pracy. Najrzadziej stosowane są zaś rozwiązania cyfrowe mogące wspomóc codzienną pracę pracowników, komunikację ze współpracownikami i przełożonymi oraz ich rozwój.

The turn of the twenty-fi rst century is the time of a global revolution consisting in an avalanche of modern technologies. The achievements of science and technology are used in every fi eld of human existence. The basis of functioning of modern society is the use of cyberspace. Access to mobile phones, computers and the global ICT network is a determinant of societal development. The idea of universal automation and computerisation is a fact. The possibility of using high-speed ICT connections is not only the domain of scientifi c institutions, military agents and large business entities. A global computer network connects individuals. The intensive development of modern technologies, the Internet and telecommunication networks has enabled the emergence of a new approach in communication between citizens and the state (with central and local government offi ces). It has also enabled the introduction of new solutions, models and services at this level, resulting directly from specifi c social needs and expectations. According to the assumptions of the idea of e-government, the basic premise for creating e-government is to improve contact with the authorities at all levels, and to speed up procedures for dealing with offi cial matters. Investing in modern administration may bring tangible benefi ts to citizens and entrepreneurs as well as to the administration itself.

The main goal of the study is to analyze technological solutions offered by start-ups, designed to im­prove the living standards of city dwellers. The text consists of two parts, theoretical and practical. In theoretical considerations, the author relies on selected literature items. The review of secondary sources first of all serves to define the concept of start-up, and then to expand and enrich the practical part with additional technological solutions for the described projects and this role is directly related to the purpose of the presented article. In the practical part, selected case studies were described and analyzed with reference to the results of the author’s own research. The research project was car­ried out by the author in 2016–2017 in cooperation with the Wroclaw Agglomeration Development Agency. Its aim was to analyze the start-up ecosystem in Wroclaw and to try to find an answer to the question about the importance of start-ups for the quality of life of city dwellers. Recommendations for the local authorities in Wroclaw on how to support ventures in entering the market and remain­ing there were of additional value. The project consisted of three parts. The first two were analyses of secondary sources, on the basis of which the necessary information was collected related to the definition of a start-up company and the current situation of enterprises in Poland and Wroclaw, and quantitative research in the form of an online survey on asample of n=108 start-ups from Wro­claw. The last stage of the research project was the qualitative part. It was in the form of individual interviews with start-ups and industry experts. Seven respondents took part in this component of the study. The result of the research was acharacterization of the start-up environment in Wroclaw. Answers to the questions asked in the questionnaire, supplemented by expert interviews, allowed to determine, among others, the branches in which Wroclaw start-ups operate, to identify the products offered by them and to extrapolate the results of start-ups’ situation to the whole of Poland. Based on the obtained knowledge, it was possible to present the importance of technological solutions of individual start-ups for the quality of life of city dwellers. According to the results of own research and the analysis of secondary sources, it can be stated that the presence of startups in urban space improves the quality of life of city dwellers, while also supporting the construction of social capital.

The article is the result of a search for effective tools that can support the process of enriching the individual lexicon of students. The possibilities of involving students in this process through the use of selected ICT tools were indicated. It was pointed out that the use of various platforms and mobile applications in the development and control of lexical skills is conducive to individualization of teaching, and its inclusion in the learning process requires an analysis for usefulness in achieving expected learning outcomes. Online learning platforms such as WordWall and LearningApps, that allow for the design of interactive exercises facilitating the learning of foreign languages, and in particular the improving of foreign vocabulary, were analyzed. Their use in the course of independent learning enables the enrichment of vocabulary in accordance with the interests and individual communication needs of students. The inclusion of these tools in the didactic process may positively affect the motivation to learn, and their systematic use, both in the classroom and during individual work, it also allows the acceleration of the memorization of the vocabulary of a foreign language.

Reduction of greenhouse gases is one of the most important goals of the European Union’s policy. The Community, in the so called climate package, comprised very restrictive objectives in this regard. In order to meet them, Poland needs to reduce the emission of those gases, at the same time using hard coal as its basic energy source. To help realise the two objectives, the so called clean coal technologies are to be applied, on which Polish researchers have been working for a few years already. NIK has audited the use of funds designated for the research entitled “Development of coal gasification technology for highly effective production of fuels and electricity”, financed by the National Centre for Research and Development (NCBR).

The article substantiates and characterizes the role of the native lan-guage in formation and development of the ethnocultural community of immigrants and their descendants in the country of settlement/birth and in its foreign environment. Theoretical and methodological principles of teaching Ukrainian as a foreign/second language by ethnic Ukrainian in the western diaspora in the second half of the XX-early XXI century. It has been found out that this process takes place under the influence of the official/state language). It has been established that in these coun-tries, ethnic Ukrainians have formed a system of teaching the Ukrainian language, starting with kindergarten/room and finishing with universi-ties. Language acquisition begins with the development of oral speech (preference is given to formation of communicative competencies of pupils/students), then pupils learn to read and write and gradually ac-quire a knowledge of its basic linguistic concepts and categories and master the skills of their practical use. The main goal of the native lan-guage education of Ukrainians in the diaspora is to ensure free posses-sion of the younger generations of foreign Ukrainians in all vital situa-tions, in communication with Ukrainians on all continents of the planet. It is established that the foundations of Ukrainian lingvodidactics in the mid-40's of the twentieth century was laid by the Canadian teacher Illia Shklianka. His ideas found continuation in scientific works, text-books and pedagogical activity of Maria Deiko, Yar Slavutych, Roma Franko, Bohdan Shkandrii and other educators of the Western Ukra-inian diaspora. Today they are fruitfully developed by Romana Bedriy, Olenka Bilash, Maria Savdyk, employees of the Ukrainian Language Center of Canadian Institute of Ukrainian Studies at the University of Alberta, other educational and scientific institutions and establishments where Ukrainian language is studied. The main goal of their activity is to create an appropriate language environment for children, pupils and students who learn Ukrainian by means of modern methods and tech-nologies, innovative educational resources, including those made in Ukraine.

Celem artykułu jest sformułowanie wyzwań stających przed firmami w kontekście osób starszych oraz próba określenia postaw seniorów wobec innowacji z obszaru technologii mobilnych. Opracowanie ma charakter przekrojowy i może służyć do formułowania strategii marketingowych dla managerów innowacyjnych przedsiębiorstw działających na rynku srebrnych konsumentów.

The article analyzes the main modern globalization challenges, that influence on the communication activities of business entities; on the basis of statistical analysis, their positive and negative characteristics are determined. A comparative analysis of the irreversible transformational changes in the world and the main trends of modern communications are carried out. Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie oraz analiza zagadnień o kluczowym dla UE znaczeniu, a także wskazanie uwarunkowań zewnętrznych, które powinny być podstawą polityki europejskiej. Omówione kwestie mają wpływ na aspekty związane z bezpieczeństwem oraz konkurencyjnością Europy. W ramach przeprowadzonych studiów literaturowych ustalono, że wśród priorytetów Europy wyróżnia się gospodarkę cyfrową realizowaną w oparciu o jednolity rynek wewnętrzny, z jednoczesnym uwzględnieniem uwarunkowań zewnętrznych. The paper reveals the problems of the Ukrainian science in the complex of military and economic conditions, as the lack of budget funds and unwillingness of private business to invest in scientific researches. It has resulted in drastic reduction of costs on the equipment and materials and cutting down of the long-term prospective researches. The necessity of studying international experience as far as diversification of university researches and elaborations funding is concerned, is emphasized. Particular attention is paid to the grant financing system of scientific projects in the USA. It is proved that science grant support, as a special financial mechanism, has obtained a widespread prevalence all over the world and to a greatest extent in the United States. The factors of grant applications successful writing are systematized. Interdependence of the gained by a scholar quantity of grants and its own reputation in the scientific community is defined. The Arrangement of the National Science Foundation (National Science Foundation – NSF) grant system is analyzed. The policy, guiding principles and working technology of the expert panel NSF, as well as customary for the United States technologies of grant support; activity and tasks of the cross-agency Grants.gov and its collaboration with other federal agencies, are summarized in the table; the working technologies of the widely known in the USA expert organization Research Associates that assists the researchers in grant management by undertaking a major part of the bureaucratic and formal procedures are highlighted. The paper reflects the activity of such intelligent web solutions as SciVal Funding, Research Professional and Reviewer finder that accomplish the search of possible funding for a number of key spheres: country, branch of knowledge, a type of funding, a type of a sponsor, deadline applications. The essential principles of the USA grant system such as exceptional transparency in grants allocation, participation of the leading scientists of the country in research funds management, focus on enterprising scientific researches (contrary to the priority programs) are determined.

Multimedia przeniknęły także do edukacji, co spowodowało, że platformy edukacyjne są coraz powszech-niej stosowane w edukacji. Spowodowane jest to rozwojem technologicznym, a także chęcią obniżenia kosztów edukacji. Zaletą jest ich dostępność oraz atrak-cyjna forma, która z pewnością sprzyja procesowi kształcenia się. The multimedia also perme-ated to the education, which resulted in the growing popularity of educational platforms. It is caused by technological development and also a tendency to lower the costs of education. Their availability and attractive form, which certainly is supporting the process, are also advantages of this form of studying. The fact that academic teachers and students can communicate with each other in very much the same way as in the traditional way of communication is also essential. Although educational platforms are being more often applied in education, still only a few colleges and universities are using them. This is because there are a mistrust and anxiety about the disappearance of traditional human relations. Educational platforms have many advantages, but they have also some defects. However, in the contemporary world, where modern technologies are dominat-ing, their application seems to be inevitable.

Rzeczywistość generowana przez media zachęca także osoby starsze do swobodnego korzystania z technologii mobilnych. Seniorzy są świadomi, iż wiedza ludzka i nauka ewoluują w zawrotnym tempie. Technologie te są dziś kluczowym czynnikiem warunkującym tempo zmian i poziom rozwoju społecznego współczesnego człowieka. Umberto Eco wręcz konstatuje, iż nowe techniki informacyjne oznaczają nowy sposób myślenia, studiowania, przekazywania ideologii. Dlatego też nie mogą być one obce również ludziom starszym. Komputery, internet, telefony komórkowe czy karty kredytowe zmieniły polską rzeczywistość. Aby seniorzy mogli w niej bezpiecznie funkcjonować, powinni mieć szeroki dostęp do edukacji mobilnej.

Computers, the Internet and credit cards have changed the Polish reality. In order that the elderly may function safely within it, they need to have wide access to mobile education.
