Nowe technologie informacyjne, informatyczne i komunikacyjne spowodowały, że współczesny system komunikacji człowieka z drugim człowiekiem i ze środowiskiem uległ całkowitej zmianie, a przede wszystkim ogromnemu wzbogaceniu. Pojawiają się zatem w sposób naturalny nowe wyzwania przed pedagogami i dydaktykami – badaczami i autorami multimedialnych podręczników szkolnych (e-podręczników) chociażby z punktu widzenia nowych funkcji, jakie mogą pełnić w edukacji. Istnieją tu również nowe wyzwania dla wydawców.

New information technologies, information and communication led to the modern system of human communication with other people and with the environment has completely changed, and above all the enormous enrichment. There is therefore a natural new challenges for teachers and educators – the researchers and authors of multimedia textbooks (e-textbooks) even from the point of view of the new features that can play in education. There are also new challenges for publishers.
