Celem artykułu było określenie perspektyw rozwoju wymiany handlowej olejami roślinnymi w krajach największych światowych producentów surowców oleistych i w Polsce w warunkach postępującej liberalizacji handlu światowego. Projekcje wykonano przy użyciu modelu Global Trade Analysis Project. W badaniach wykorzystano autorskie scenariusze symulacyjne oraz zmodyfikowaną i dostosowaną do potrzeb prowadzonego badania agregację bazy danych modelu w wersji GTAP 8 Data Base. Na podstawie wykonanych analiz można stwierdzić, że potencjalna liberalizacja światowego handlu produktami oleistymi we wszystkich analizowanych państwach może doprowadzić do wzrostu importu, ale nie powinna spowodować radykalnych zmian eksportu. Stąd, nie powinno nastąpić istotne przewartościowanie układu sił na światowym rynku oleistych. Czynnikiem łagodzącym ujemne dla bilansu handlowego skutki liberalizacji handlu światowego mogłoby być zwiększenie wydajności jednostkowej w produkcji roślin oleistych.

The aim of the paper was to assess growth prospects of trade in vegetable oils in countries of the biggest producers of oilseeds in the world and in Poland in view of progressing liberalisation of the global trade. A general equilibrium model Global Trade Analysis Project was used to make ex ante projections. The author’s simulation scenarios and modified aggregation of the GTAP 8 Data Base were used in the research. On the basis of the conducted analyses it is possible to conclude that the potential liberalisation of the global oilseeds trade may cause an increase in the import in all of investigated countries, but it should not result in significant changes in export. Hence, the power of particular countries on the world market should not evolve crucially. An increase in oilseeds yield might be a way to overcome the negative influence of the global trade liberalisation on the trade balance.
