W artykule rozpatrywane są niektóre skutki światowego finansowo-ekonomicznego kryzysu, mające wpływ na społeczno-ekonomiczny rozwój Ukrainy, w szczególności na dzisiejsze długotrwałe problemy („choroby”) gospodarki Ukrainy, które spowodowały krytyczny stan tego kraju. Autorka artykułu wyjaśnia, dlaczego jest to wynik kryzysu systemu, a nie kryzysu władzy. Ponadto, stawia pytanie, czy istnieje jakaś forma „leczenia” tych chorób i czy będzie ona skuteczna, oraz nie spowoduje jednocześnie nowych poważnych problemów w kraju. W szczególności rozważa, jaka nowa strategia rozwoju polityki ekonomicznej będzie potrzebna na Ukrainie.

The article deals with some effects of the global financial and economic crisis on the socio-economic development of Ukraine, in particular on today’s long-term problems (“diseases”) of Ukraine’s economy, which have caused a critical state of the country. The author of the article demonstrates why it is the result of the crisis of the system and not the crisis of authority. Moreover, the author poses a question whether there is any kind of “treatment” for these diseases as well as if it will be effective and will not cause new serious problems in the country. In particular, the author ponders what new strategy of economic policy development will be necessary for Ukraine.
