W artykule charakteryzuję historię napływu uchodźców i imigrantów do Danii na przestrzeni wieków. Mimo, iż Dania nie jest uważana za główny kraj imigracji w Europie, a jej obywatele to raczej homogeniczna populacja, to na przestrzeni wieków przybywali do Danii imigranci z różnych stron świata, co m.in. było uwarunkowane historycznie, politycznie i ekonomicznie. Podaję także przyczyny ich napływu oraz charakteryzuję liczbę uchodźców i imigrantów w poszczególnych wiekach i latach. W dalszej części artykułu opisuję działania gmin i społeczności lokalnych na rzecz cudzoziemców i ich integracji społecznej oraz przedstawiam niektóre inicjatywy i programy na rzecz akulturacji osób odmiennych kulturowo.

The paper characterizes the history of the influx of refugees and immigrants in Denmark over the centuries. Although Denmark is not considered to be the main country of immigration in Europe and its citizens is rather homogeneous population, that over the centuries came to Denmark immigrants from different parts of the world, which was determined historically, politically and economically. In the article I give the reasons for their inflows and characterize the number of refugees and immigrants in different ages and years. In the second part of the article I describe actions by municipalities and local communities for foreigners and their social integration. I also present some of the initiatives and programs for better acculturation process of immigrants.
