The article describes the transformations of the traditional category of beauty in the Croatian modernist discourse. Based on the analysis of works of Matoš, we offer a study of modernist concepts of beauty, manifested in the relations between beauty, art and life. The discourse in question simultaneously transforms and explains the sense of beauty, introduces into the world of aesthetic and artistic values central to the culture of modernism.
The artistic expression of the sense of beauty of the everyday life in Russian literature and painting of the Silver Age is the subject of this article. The analysis is carried out in the context of the religio-philosophical ideas of Vladimir Solovyov. Тhe typological regularities are established based on the examples of the works of the famous writers and artists: IvanBunin, IvanShmelev, KonstantinKorovin, BorisKustodiev. The research shows: the sense of beauty of the everyday life in the artistic consciousness of the authors made them convinced about the coexistence of the high sources of being, in the poetization of the archetypal basis of the nations life.
