This article presents the findings of research into time accessibility of Szadek, analysed from individual transport perspective. In terms of spatial extent, the study covers the area of Łódź voivodeship. All analyses presented in the article were carried out in February 2015. The methods of time accessibility assessment used in this study include cumulative accessibility, transport-settlement efficiency ratio, and indicators based on the range and shape of ideal and theoretical isochrones. It has been assumed, for research purposes, that traffic regulations are the only factor affecting the speed of vehicle movement between Szadek and the remaining 43 towns of the region.

W artykule przedstawiono wyniki badań nad dostępnością czasową Uniejowa odnośnie do samochodowego transportu indywidualnego. Analizy zostały przeprowadzone w ujęciu wewnątrzregionalnym, w odniesieniu do pozostałych 43 miast województwa łódzkiego. Badania oparte na teoretycznych czasach przejazdu, wynikających z przepisów ruchu drogowego, oparto na dostępności kumulatywnej, sprawności transportowo-osadniczej oraz analizach izochron idealnych i teoretycznej. Przeprowadzone badania pozwalają ocenić poziom dostępności czasowej Uniejowa w świetle aktualnie funkcjonującej infrastruktury drogowej.

The paper presents results of research on time accessibility of Uniejów. Analyses were carried out within the Lodz region, with reference to the remaining 43 towns of Łódź voivodeship. The study was based on theoretical journey times which result from road traffic law, based on the cumulative accessibility, transport and settlement efficiency and analysis of perfect and theoretical isochrones. The studies allow assessment of the level of time accessibility of Uniejów in the light of the existing road infrastructure.

Niniejszy artykuł koncentruje się na analizie zmian dostępności transportowej w skali regionalnej w ujęciu indywidualnego transportu samochodowego na skutek wprowadzenia do regionalnej sieci drogowej południkowych obwodnic Łodzi. Zmiany określono na podstawie pomiarów dostępności czasowej oraz potencjałowej przeprowadzonych dla sieci przed i po implementacji odcinków obwodnicowych. Wyniki zaprezentowano w ujęciu względnym i bezwzględnym dla każdej z 4956 jednostek osadniczych i 177 gmin województwa łódzkiego. Stwierdzono, że budowa autostrad i dróg ekspresowych, a szczególnie tych, które stanowią odcinki omijające duże ośrodki miejskie, przyczynia się do zwiększenia spójności terytorialnej regionu oraz zwiększenia dostępności obszarów peryferyjnych, a wielkość oraz zasięg przestrzenny oddziaływania inwestycji drogowych jest wyraźnie zróżnicowany.

This paper focuses on the changes in transport accessibility at the regional scale in terms of individual car transport due to the introduction to the regional road network of the bypasses of Łódź in the meridian course. The changes are determined on the basis of measures of the time and potential accessibility of the network, conducted before and after the ring roads were implemented. The results are presented in both relative and absolute terms for each of the 4956 settlement units and 177 communes of the Łódź region. The author determines that the construction of motorways and expressways, especially those representing bypasses of large urban centres, helps to increase the cohesion of a region and increase accessibility of peripheral areas, while the size and spatial extent of the impact of road investments are clearly differentiated.
