Celem artykułu jest analiza wielkości ruchu turystycznego na Wyspach Owczych z uwzględnieniem izolacji archipelagu, wynikającej z położenia geograficznego. W 2014 r. można zauważyć ożywienie ruchu turystycznego, co przejawia się większą liczbą turystów na lotniskach, większą liczbą podróżujących promami, większym wykorzystaniem bazy noclegowej. Statystyki wskazują na rozwój przemysłu turystycznego. Może on wynikać z realizacji nowej strategii rozwoju turystyki oraz działań promocyjnych.

The aim of the article is an analysis of tourism movement in Faroe Islands taking into account the isolation of the archipelago resulting from its geographical location. In 2014 one can observe a revival of the tourism movement, which is displayed by a higher number of tourists at the airports, more people travelling by ferry boat, more exploitation of the accommodation base. Statistics point at the tourist industry development. It may result from the implementation of new tourism development strategies and promotion campaign.
