Po wejściu Polski do Unii Europejskiej dzięki inwestycjom realizowanym z wykorzystaniem środków pomocowych zwiększyła się na obszarze całego kraju ilość zagospodarowanych terenów oraz form planowania przestrzennego. Artykuł opisuje braki w infrastrukturze drogowej Polski, prezentując jednocześnie możliwości rozwoju obszarów podmiejskich poprzez budowę węzłów autostradowych, które dzięki swoim lokalizacjom oferują nowe szanse inwestycyjne przedsiębiorstwom oraz zmiany w zagospodarowaniu przestrzennym w regionie. W artykule zaprezentowano inwestycje drogowe w województwie małopolskim, ze szczególnych uwzględnieniem autostrady A4 na odcinku Kraków-Tarnów.

After admission of Poland to the European Union, thanks to used investments from UE resources, a number of developed lands has increased as well as forms of town and country planning has improved. The article describes some shortages in the road infrastructure of Poland and illustrates possibilities of development of suburban areas through construction of motorway interchanges, which thanks to their localization will offer new investment opportunities for companies and introduce changes into the town and country planning of the region. The article also includes quantity data describing road investments in the Małopolska district, including the A4 motorway of the Kraków-Tarnów section.
