The article presents an overview of research on transitions of transgender parents. We performed an analysis of studies which show a perspective of a child experiencing the transition of his or her parents. The results show how important it is to meet the emotional needs of the child, especially the need to maintain a secure and stable relationship with both parents in a situation of experiencing one parent’s transition and separation of parents (divorce). The results are presented and interpreted in the light of the attachment theory of John Bowlby and the concept of the five emotional needs derived from the theoretical basis of schema therapy.

W artykule dokonano przeglądu badań nad tranzycją rodziców transpłciowych. Analizie poddano te badania, które uwzględniały perspektywę dziecka doświadczającego tranzycji rodzica. Przedstawione wyniki ukazują znaczenie zaspokojenia potrzeb emocjonalnych dziecka, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem potrzeby utrzymania bezpiecznej i stabilnej więzi z obojgiem rodziców w sytuacji doświadczania przez dziecko tranzycji rodzica i rozstania rodziców (rozwód, separacja). Wyniki przedstawiono i zinterpretowano w świetle teorii przywiązania Johna Bowlby’ego i koncepcji pięciu potrzeb emocjonalnych wywodzących się z podstaw teoretycznych terapii schematu.
