Wstęp. Edukacja stanowi nieodłączny element terapii i opieki pielęgniarskiej nad chorym z cukrzycą. Kiedy edukacja prowadzona jest prawidłowo, przygotowuje pacjenta do zachowań prozdrowotnych oraz współpracy w procesie pielęgnacji, rehabilitacji, samokontroli oraz opieki nieprofesjonalnej. Wszystkie prowadzone działania mają na celu poprawę jakości życia pacjentów, która stanowi ważny element leczenia chorób przewlekłych.
