Celem artykułu jest analiza cech trudnych sytuacji decyzyjnych doświadczanych w praktyce przez polskich menedżerów średniego i wyższego szczebla. Wyniki badania empirycznego pozwoliły na zidentyfikowanie barier wpływających na postrzeganą trudność sytuacji decyzyjnych. Na tej podstawie do najważniejszych barier autorka zalicza: personalną – związaną z zarządzaniem zasobami ludzkimi w organizacji oraz własnym menedżerskim potencjałem; społeczno-kulturową – wynikającą z konfliktów trawiących organizację; zasobową, w tym szczególnie barierę wiedzy.

The goal of this article is an analysis of the qualities of difficult decision situations as experienced in the practice of Polish middle and upper management. The results of empirical research allow the identification of barriers influencing the perception of difficulty in decision situations. It is on this basis that the author includes the following among the most important obstacles: personnel as linked with the management of human resources in the organization and in–house managerial potential, socio–cultural as stemming from conflicts affecting the organization, and resources, especially the knowledge barrier.
