The aim of the article is to analyze the higher education of persons with disabilities, in particular from the perspective of multisectorality, and thus functioning of the public and private schools on the educational market. The number of students with disabilities is steadily increasing, but the indicators of start ing higher education by people with disabilities are still significantly lower than the total population. Through comparative and quantitative method it is possible to indicate that the two sectors propose an attractive teaching offer for students with disabilities, and that the structure of students with disabilities, taking into account the property sector and mode of study, does not differ from that of students in total. The analysis shows that the public sector is better prepared for the adoption of students with disabilities and that in the public schools disabled students can find more amenities that support their education.

Holding Wyższych Szkół Bankowych (WSB) to największa grupa niepublicznych (prywatnych) szkół wyższych w Polsce. Uczelnie zlokalizowane są w Bydgoszczy, Chorzowie, Gdańsku, Gdyni, Opolu, Poznaniu, Szczecinie, Toruniu, Wrocławiu i Warszawie. Biblioteki funkcjonujące w strukturach holdingu skupiają się na: obsłudze dydaktyki, wsparciu działalności naukowej uczelni, współpracy ze środowiskiem bibliotekarskim zarówno lokalnie, jak i krajowo oraz pracy na rzecz społecznej odpowiedzialności uczelni. Dodatkowo bibliotekarze WSB prowadzą działalność naukową, a swoją aktywność zawodową rozwijają poprzez działania wpisujące się w ideę kształcenia ustawicznego, poprzez szkolenia, kursy, studia podyplomowe, doktoranckie, studia MBA oraz udział w programie Erasmus+.

The WSB Universities Holding is the largest group of non-public (private) universities in Poland. Universities are located in Bydgoszcz, Chorzów, Gdańsk, Gdynia, Opole, Poznań, Szczecin, Toruń, Wrocław and Warsaw. Libraries working in the holding structure focus on: teaching support, assisting the academic activity of the university, cooperation with the librarian community both locally and nationally, and working for the universities social responsibility. In addition, WSB librarians conduct scientific activities and professional development through trainings, courses, postgraduate studies, doctoral studies, MBA studies and participation in the Erasmus+ program.

The author of this article, the founder and Chancellor of two Polish non-public universities, attempts to analyze the current situation on the education market in the country, focusing primarily on the issues which concerns non-public universities, the source of which is largely the lack of a policy of equal treatment of public and non-public schools. Such discussion concerns not only the issue of the allocation of European funds, but also of grants from the State budget or legał regulations. The author, additionally to an analysis of the present situation, also suggests proposals for Solutions to existing problems.

Autor artykułu, założyciel i kanclerz dwóch polskich uczelni niepublicznych, podejmuje próbę analizy obecnej sytuacji na rynku edukacyjnym w kraju, skupiając się przede wszystkim na problemach, z którymi mierzyć się muszą uczelnie niepubliczne, a źródłem których w znacznej mierze jest brak polityki równego traktowania szkół publicznych i niepublicznych. Poruszona zostaje nie tylko kwestia rozdziału funduszy europejskich, ale także dotacji z budżetu państwa czy regulacji prawnych. Autor, poza analizą obecnej sytuacji, sugeruje również propozycje rozwiązań istniejących problemów.

Obszar edukacji ustawicznej, w tym edukacji dorosłych, zajmuje istotne miejsce wśród priorytetów polityki edukacyjnej na szczeblu europejskim i krajowym. Wzrost znaczenia lifelong learning pociągnął za sobą dynamiczny rozwój rynku usług edukacyjnych adresowanych do osób dorosłych. Swoją ofertę z myślą o tej grupie odbiorców rozbudowały również szkoły wyższe. Jedną z proponowanych przez nie form kształcenia są studia podyplomowe. Dane z ostatnich lat wskazują na konsekwentne umacnianie pozycji uczelni niepublicznych kosztem spadającego zainteresowania kształceniem podyplomowym na uczelniach publicznych, zwłaszcza uniwersytetach. Ze względu na obserwowaną dynamikę można byłoby przypuszczać, że dominacja wybranej grupy uczelni wynika z jej realnej przewagi konkurencyjnej w zakresie oferty kształcenia i standardu świadczonych usług edukacyjnych. Czy jednak rzeczywiście tak jest? Artykuł prezentuje wyniki badania opinii słuchaczy różnych typów uczelni na temat ich oferty edukacyjnej adresowanej do osób dorosłych oraz wybranych aspektów procesu kształcenia.

The area of lifelong education, including adult education, takes an important place among the priorities of educational policy, both at the national and European level. The increasing role of lifelong learning results in dynamic progress on the market of educational services. Also, Higher Education Institutions developed their offer addressed to adult students, proposing, among others, postgraduate studies. Last decade shows that especially institutions of private sector have strengthened their position in this segment of the market at the expense of the public institutions. Based on that one might expect that the supremacy of the particular group of institutions is due to their competitive advantage in the area of service’s quality and offer. The aim of the article is to verify this assumption by presenting preliminary findings based on the research conducted among postgraduate students of different types of Higher Education Institutions.
