Na tle statystyki uczestnictwa mieszkańców Polski w wyjazdach zagranicznych w latach 1996-2012 przedstawiono wyniki badań dotyczące udziału Polaków w wyjazdach organizowanych przez biura podróży. Podstawowym źródłem danych były dwa rodzaje badań Instytutu Turystyki przeprowadzanych na reprezentatywnych ogólnopolskich próbach osób w wieku 15 i więcej lat. Omówiono główne zmiany, które zaszły w analizowanym okresie. Szczegółowo przedstawiono dane opisujące wyjazdy Polaków zrealizowane za pośrednictwem biur podróży w 2012 roku. Uwzględniono długość pobytu, najczęściej odwiedzane kraje i charakterystykę podróżujących osób. W celach porównawczych odwołano się do niektórych danych uzyskanych w badaniach modułowych Głównego Urzędu Statystycznego, a w odniesieniu do kierunków wyjazdów Polaków w 2012 roku do danych Polskiego Związku Organizatorów Turystyki i Urzędu Lotnictwa Cywilnego.

The author of this article presents the results of research on the subject of the participation of Polish citizens in trips organized by travel agencies in connection with the statistics concerning the participation of Polish citizen in abroad mobility in years 1996-2012. The primary source of data were two types of tests carried out by the Institute of Tourism on representative national sample of persons aged 15 years and older. The research discusses major changes that have occurred in the reporting period. Data describing the participation of Polish citizens in the said trips in 2012 year were presented in detail. The following issues were taken into consideration: length of stay, frequently visited countries and characteristics of traveling people. For comparative purposes, a reference was made to some of the data obtained in the modular studies of Central Statistical Office (GUS), while in relation to the direction of travels of Polish citizens in 2012 – the data were obtained from the Polish Tour Operators Association and the Civil Aviation Authority.
