Striving to completely explain the concept of entrepreneurship we have to look into the workof three fields of science: economics, sociology and psychology. Among the skills and qualitiesnecessary for an entrepreneur they name the following: readiness and ability to make decisions, creative approach to problem solving, courage, creativity, resourcefulness, persistence and wil-lingness to work. Therefore the teachers of entrepreneurship have to pass on to their studentsspecific knowledge and skills useful for their participation in social and economic life, as wellas encourage certain qualities and attitudes concerned with taking advantage of opportunitiesand openness to novelty under all circumstances, not necessarily as an entrepreneur. Choosingthe teaching methods, it is worth to get to know the opinions and expectations of your studentsconcerning the skills they consider important and necessary on the Polish job market. I havebeen looking into this issue with final year students for several years. It turns out that the pre-ferences of young people who are getting ready to enter the job market are changing and te-achers should react to this fact. One of the latest tendencies is to put more emphasis on gettingskills and later knowledge. Furthermore, students realize that even when they possess knowledge, they should also have the ability to make use of it.

The most important challenges facing our country are: wide development and educational development to ensure a rapid dynamics of socio-economic. Possible changes can be implemented in a rational society, knowledge society, which is based on education based on respect for one's own past history, as well as touring. This article aims to highlight the always current words written in the notes of the Commission for Protection of Monuments for more than 30 years ago, which read: Each nation needed are old stones and old architectural shapes. They just are the anchor of the memory of many generations. Another goal is to bring the term of sightseeing and to highlight its role in the integration (bonding) units in the active groups. The speed and dynamics of change is a major threat to the development of whole societies. Educated and engaged in their work the teacher can build and strengthen quality: ties in the group, as well as the quality of life of individuals and entire social groups. Ability to perceive beauty of his native land, its history, monuments. Nature can integrate individuals, groups and the whole society.
The paper discusses the concept of ‘competency’. The authors identify the elementary competencies of professional soldiers based on literature and their own pilot studies. They also discuss the use of competencies acquired by soldiers as part of military service (The Amazon Military programme and IBM are used as an example). The example of the Israeli Defense Force (IDF) is given as an incubator of competencies used in a market economy. The analysis of source materials and legal acts, an interview and participant observation are used in the work. Interviews with twenty-six managers of companies employing retired officers were conducted as part of a pilot study in the last quarter of 2019 within the project: “Structural and process determinants of the efficiency of public and economic organizations”, of which the authors are members. The purpose of the article is to examine the use of competences acquired during professional military service on the civilian labour market. The research problem of the work is: what useful competencies do professional soldiers (officers of the Polish Army) have on the civilian labour market? For the purposes of the work, the following hypothesis was formulated: competences acquired as part of military service may be an asset in the civilian market.

Wywiady przeprowadzono w ostatnim kwartale 2019 r. w badaniu pilotażowym w ramach projektu „Strukturalne i procesowe determinanty sprawności organizacji publicznych i gospodarczych”.
This paper attempts to present some views on the concept of entrepreneurship in the context of professional musicians’ life and work. Entrepreneurship has been increasingly regarded as an important aspect of music professions, even though it has not been universally welcomed. It has been mostly seen as a necessity resulting from the difficulties on a labour market. However, it can be argued that an entrepreneurial approach might be an effective formula for those artists who appreciate independent and innovative ways of creating value, both economic and cultural. The paper is focused on defining possible areas of musician’s entrepreneurship and exploring ways it is present in initial and continuing education programmes. It concludes with some suggestions for potential changes in music tertiary education and professional development opportunities.

Konkluzje artykułu obejmują m.in. sugestie dotyczące możliwych zmian w uczelniach artystycznych oraz programach rozwoju zawodowego artystów.
Kształcenie w miejscu pracy nabiera coraz większego znaczenia, jeśli chodzi o szkolenia pracowników. Rynek pracy wymaga nowych umiejętności, a wraz z umiejętnościami zawodowymi rośnie znaczenie umiejętności ogólnych.

Work-based learning is becoming increasingly important in training of competitive employees for various fields. The labour market requires new skills, and the importance of generic skills tends to grow, alongside with the professional skills. Different stakeholders could have different opinions on the skills required for employees. The aim of the current research is to investigate views of employers, vocational education institutions and students on several aspects of today’s labour market skills. Methods used for empirical research: survey of employers, vocational education institutions’ managers and students. For the evaluation and comparison of all stakeholder’s opinions, the same questions were used with the same evaluation scale 1-10, where 1- not important; 10-very important. For data analysis of survey data the following indicators of descriptive statistics were used – indicators of central tendency or location: arithmetic mean, mode, median; indicators of dispersion or variability: range, standard deviation, standard error of mean. Survey results indicated that there are similar views on all main aspects of labour market skills by all the involved groups, clearly recognising the importance of generic skills, alongside with the professional skills in the labour market context.
The key issue of the undertaken topic is accompanying the dying person. Death as the last phase of human life is an undeniable fact, and the transition to eternal life is an extremely important event for believers. Making it a human event amid medical procedures, fears and marginalization becomes the call of modern civilization. Recognition of the dying process becomes an important element in starting the preparation for death and accompanying you in this mystery. The responsibility of medical personnel for providing information about the possibility of death and preparing the patient and his family for the time of dying. Accepting death and accepting leaving this world becomes the basic indication of restoring the humanistic dimension to this event among medical procedures. The pandemic time, which makes it impossible for the family to relate to the sick, has become a particular symptom of the industrialization of dying. Pointing out the symptoms of the last phase of human life will allow the family and the dying person to recognize this time and at the same time begin the process of accompaniment. An important aspect in the reflection on accompanying the dying person is to show the family and loved ones specific skills useful in terminal care.

In this article, the issues of coexistence of two reading styles were described. The first way of reading is the analogue (traditional, classical) reading. This type of reading is related to immerse reading. Simultaneously the new type of reading (digital reading) coexists. It is associated with the development of reading of the web content. Traditional style is disappearing, while digital style is growing. With the coexistence of the two reading styles, the functions associated with this process are evolving or disappearing. The article focuses on changes related to the process of thinking (creativity and critical thinking, the style and ability to interpret the surrounding reality, the ability to perceive and understand abstract concepts, and the development of cognitive needs) and skills developed in the process of education (language culture, writing skills, and discussion skills).

The paper presents a substantive and methodological assessment of the tasks and the trends in changes in the scope of knowledge and skills tested during the final examinations (matura) at Polish high schools in the years 2005–2011. The examination sheets contained a various number of tasks (27–38). They included open-ended and closed-ended tasks. With a total of 14 sheets, closed-ended tasks predominated in 9 sheets, open-ended tasks prevailed in 4 sheets, while the number of open-ended and closed-ended tasks was equal in one sheet (Table 1). Typically, more tasks were prepared to verify knowledge than to check skills (Table 2). The number of closed-ended tasks and the tasks verifying knowledge increased, while the number of open-ended tasks and the tasks checking skills decreased. These unfavourable trends were observed at the high school final examinations in the years 2005–2011. Out of the 14 sheets, tasks related to geography of the world predominated in 9 sheets, while tasks related to geography of Poland prevailed in 5 sheets (Table 2). At the high school final examination at the basic level, a greater emphasis was put on the knowledge of geography of Poland, while at the extended level – on the geography of the world. At high school final examinations prevailed tasks related to socio-economic geography (42%). 33% of the tasks concerned physical geography, 15% – regional geography, and 10% – cartography and world time calculation. In individual sheets at the basic level, the tasks related to socio-economic geography accounted for 29–44% of all tasks, while at the extended level – 32–56%. In the extended version of high school final examinations, a considerable number of tasks (25–45%) was associated also with physical geography. Typically, significantly fewer tasks of this type were prepared for the basic level (9–32%). However 18–30% of the tasks put there were related to regional geography – considerably more than in the sheets at the extended level (10–21%). The smallest number of tasks at high school final examinations concerned cartography and world time calculation (basic level: 10–19%, extended level: 3–17%). The number of points for the tasks in the aforementioned groups was not always proportional to the number of tasks. The highest number of tasks and related points at the basic and extended examinations was associated with the knowledge of facts and the ability to draw conclusions from the texts, illustrations, maps, and models attached to the tasks (36% of the tasks and points). The second most numerous group included tasks related to the knowledge of events concerning the contemporary political, social and economic situation in Poland, and in the world (basic level: 22% of tasks and 23% of points, extended level: 26% of tasks and points). In the extended-level sheets, there were more tasks concerning explanation of the processes and phenomena occurring in the geographical environment than in the sheets at the basic level; also more points were awarded for them (17% and 18%; 15% and 14%). In the basic version of the high school final examination, twice as many tasks relating to the work with maps were included than in the extended version (16% and 8%) and twice as many points (16% and 6%) could be obtained. Tasks related to the astronomical bases of geography and related points at both levels of requirements constituted 3%/6% and 3%/7% respectively, of the total number of tasks. The number of tasks verifying the knowledge of concepts and definitions, as well as the number of points were similar in the sheets at both levels (8%/9% and 7%/7% respectively) (Table 4). Some errors and inaccuracies were unfortunately not avoided at the high school final examinations (Table 16). The highest number of mistakes was observed in the basic level sheet of the high school final examination of 2005 (in 29% of the tasks). At subsequent examinations, errors occurred in a few tasks. The model of the sheet developed for the first high school final examination has not changed significantly for 7 years.
Artykuł zawiera prezentację wyników badania na temat oceny jakości kapitału ludzkiego zaangażowanego w sektorze mikroprzedsiębiorstw. Oceny dokonano z perspektywy pracodawców i przeprowadzono ją w kontekście: wiedzy, umiejętności, doświadczenia zawodowego. Wymienione elementy kapitału ludzkiego analizowano w przekroju zawodów (opisanych trzema kodami cyfrowymi) osób pracujących w mikroprzedsiębiorstwach. Z przeprowadzonych analiz wynika, że pracodawcy pozytywnie oceniają zaangażowany kapitał ludzki, a występujące w nim luki mają charakter sporadyczny i dotyczą umiejętności praktycznych.

The paper contains a presentation of the results of a research study on the assessment of the quality of human capital in microenterprises. The assessment was made from the perspective of employers – it regarded knowledge, skills, and professional experience. These elements of human capital were analyzed for particular occupations (identified by means of a three-digit code) of those employed in microenterprises. The research study shows that employers give a positive assessment of the stock of human capital in their enterprises. The existing gaps are sporadic and concern practical skills. They usually occur in such occupations as sales persons, cooks, waiters and bartenders. The analysis included 1,000 companies employing from 0 to 9 persons. The research study was carried out by the Institute of Labour and Social Studies in 2012 within the project "Analysis of the processes on the Polish labour market and in the area of social inclusion in the context of economic policy". The project was cofinanced by the European Union under the European Social Fund.
The presented comparative analysis of internship systems typical of university stud-ies in the pedagogy of early childhood education in Poland and the United Kingdom aims to indicate the significance of this sphere of practical expertise for the process of future teachers’ university education. Theoretical knowledge, which is acquired due to the participation in university lectures and classes, must be supplemented by practical skills that can be only attained due to participant observation and taking relevant actions in educational facilities. The number of hours spent on pedagogy internship for future teachers differs significantly in the Polish and English university education, which becomes evident when one realizes that UK students spend nearly ten times more hours on pedagogy internship than Polish students. Does it mean that a pedagogy student educated in the UK is better prepared for their future vocation than his/her equal in Poland? Since pedagogy internship constitutes a very significant (albeit not the only one) element of university education in pedagogy, the following analyses and considerations aim to initiate a debate concerning the issue. At this point, one has to emphasize that the sheer number of hours spent on pedagogy internship is definitely less significant that the quality, diversity, adequacy and orientation towards practical issues that characterize a given type of traineeship.

Changes in higher education aim at making it more practical. More stringent requirements in the labour market, intense competition and time pressure are not conducive for training new employees so that they can effectively perform their professional tasks. The expectations of the modern labour market are such that the employees should display up-to-date knowledge and good as a part of higher education reform to adapt study plans and programmes to labour market needs. The traditional model of education has been replaced with a new one based on knowledge, skills and competences. In the context of introduced changes, the importance of student placements allowing for gaining professional experience in real life conditions has grown. In order to adapt study programmes to current requirements, councils in which employers’ representatives sit, are established at HEIs. Monitoring of graduates’ careers also plays a significant role in improving the process of education. Career bureaus operating at HEIs also gather momentum. All these activities aim at supporting students and alumni in successful operation in the labour market.

Zmiany w szkolnictwie wyższym zmierzają w kierunku upraktycznienia kształcenia. Wysokie wymagania rynku pracy, silna konkurencja, presja czasu nie sprzyjają procesowi wdrażania nowego pracownika do zadań wynikających z zakresu czynności. Współczesny rynek pracy – coraz bardziej ograniczony – oczekuje na pracownika z aktualną wiedzą i dobrą orientacją w realiach zawodu. Dlatego też w ramach reformy szkolnictwa wyższego zainicjowano wiele działań zmierzających do dostosowania planów i programów kształcenia do realnego rynku pracy.
