Technická výchova musí být vnímána jako základna k dosažení pracovních a dalších kompetencí, které jsou uvedeny v rámcových vzdělávacích programech pro základní i střední vzdělání. Tento požadavek není vždy vhodně akceptován v transformačních procesech školských soustav. Příspěvek porovnává vývoj technického vzdělávání v USA a v naší školské soustavě v posledních letech.

Technical education must be understood as fundamental for acquiring working and other skills specified in the framework educational programmes for both primary and secondary education. This requirement has not always been accepted in processes implementing the transformation of educational systems. The paper compares the development of technical education in the USA and in our country during the last few years.
