Venous leg ulcers are a multifaceted, a serious problem of modern medicine. The healing process takes from several months to a few or even several years. Treatment half of all ulcers takes an average of nine months in 20% of cases, two years in 8% of patients with more than five years, and more than 70% of the cases it is possible recurrence of the disease. In view of the patients developed it is a modern concept of treating wounds, which are an indispensable element of the specialist dressings for optimal wound healing. Promote and accelerate the healing process, which have an impact on the improvement of the general condition of the patient, mental state, and as a result, quality of life. The aim of this study was to discuss the importance of specialist dressings in the treatment of leg vein ulcers using the TIME strategy.

Owrzodzenia żylne podudzi stanowią wieloaspektowy, poważny problem współczesnej medycyny. Proces ich gojenia trwa od kilku miesięcy do kilku, a nawet kilkunastu lat. Leczenie połowy wszystkich owrzodzeń zajmuje średnio 9 miesięcy, w 20% przypadków są to 2 lata, u 8% chorych ponad 5 lat, natomiast nawrót schorzenia jest możliwy w ponad 70% przypadków. Z myślą o chorych stworzona została nowoczesna koncepcja leczenia ran, której nieodzownym elementem są opatrunki specjalistyczne umożliwiające optymalne leczenie rany. Wspomagają i przyspieszają proces gojenia, przez co mają wpływ na poprawę kondycji ogólnej pacjenta, jego stan psychiczny, a w efekcie także na jakość życia. Celem niniejszej pracy było omówienie znaczenia opatrunków specjalistycznych w procesie leczenia owrzodzeń żylnych podudzi z wykorzystaniem strategii TIME.
