Celem artykułu jest analiza ocena aspektów bieżącej kondycji sektora opieki zdrowotnej w Polsce. W artykule przedstawiono problem relatywnie niskiego (choć stale rosnącego) poziomu publicznego finansowania systemu opieki zdrowotnej w Polsce, jak i małej efektywności wykorzystywania tych środków. Wskazuje się na konieczność pogłębiania liberalizacji rynku w celu uzyskania dodatkowych źródeł finansowania oraz poprawy wykorzystania środków publicznych.

The aim of the article is assessment of contemporary Polish health care sector’s issues. The paper shows the problem of relatively small (although still rising) level of public health care sector financing in Poland, as well poor efficiency of public resources’ usage. It shows necessity of implementing free market mechanisms, aiming at possessing additional sources of financing and improvement of use of public sources.
