The purpose of this paper is to present a historical outline of defence against air assets and its development over the years. The authors discuss the goal and tasks that anti-aircraft defence performs in the protection of a country’s airspace. An important present aspect is that anti-aircraft defence systems support Armed Forces in protecting territories of their countries. It is in the United States that the use of modern solutions in this field was initiated, with their rocket systems fulfilling the task. The purchase and implementation of the Patriot system in Poland is currently one of the most frequently discussed topics in the Ministry of Naional Defence. The paper presents the configuration of the ordered system, the benefits of deploying the system in the Republic of Poland, and the costs of its implementation.

Conception of a time break even point in information systems implementation in small and medium-sized enterprises

This article examines information systems implementation and the constant attempt to balance between: the budget, the scope and implementation time. The author stresses the importance of the resource of time, as a key factor affecting the profitability of IT investments in small and medium enterprises. The purpose of this paper is an attempt to characterize the concept of a time break-even point (TBEP) related to information systems implementation in small and medium enterprises, and how to determine when the operation of the system will return the invested capital; after which the IT project generate profits. The author also makes an attempt to answer the question of whether and how the duration of the system implementation affects the moment of reaching the break-even point and what impact this has on the implementation process time on the level of so-called time margin of information system exploitation safety (TMSES).

Artykuł charakteryzuje wdrożenia systemów informatycznych, czyli nieustanną próbę balansowania pomiędzy: wielkością budżetu, zakresem realizowanych funkcjonalności oraz czasem poświęconym na realizację. Autor podkreśla szczególne znaczenie zasobu czasu, jako kluczowego czynnika mającego wpływ na rentowność inwestycji w IT w małych i średnich przedsiębiorstwach. Celem niniejszego opracowania jest próba scharakteryzowania koncepcji „czasowego” progu rentowności (TBEP) wdrożeń systemów informatycznych w małych i średnich przedsiębiorstwach, a więc sposobu określenia, po jakim czasie eksploatacji systemu nastąpi zwrot poniesionych nakładów inwestycyjnych, a zatem kiedy przedsięwzięcie informatyczne zacznie generować zyski. Autor podejmuje także próbę odpowiedzi na pytanie, czy i w jaki sposób długość czasu wdrożenia systemu informatycznego w przedsiębiorstwie wpływa na moment osiągnięcia progu rentowności oraz jaki wpływ wywiera proces wdrożeniowy na poziom tzw. czasowego wskaźnika bezpieczeństwa eksploatacji systemu (TMSES).

This article constitutes an attempt to propose a concept model for the implementation of Corporate Social Responsibility in small and medium-sized manufacturing enterprises. Poor CSR awareness and implementation across the SME sector is presented and discussed on the basis of research carried out by Polish Agency for Enterprise Development. The article recommends approach where the hierarchy of different levels of Corporate Social Responsibility forms the fundament upon which the company builds its competitive advantage. Attention is also drowned to the development of practices important from the point of view of key stakeholders in order to increase the effectiveness of CSR activities which are seen as instrumental in enhancing the competitiveness of the whole enterprises.

W artykule podejmuje się próbę zaproponowania modelu wdrażania koncepcji społecznej odpowiedzialności biznesu w małych i średnich przedsiębiorstwach produkcyjnych. Na podstawie badań PARP przedstawia się problem jakim jest słaba kondycja SCR w sektorze MSP. Sugeruje się podejście w którym kluczowym aspektem są poziomy społecznej odpowiedzialności biznesu rozumiane jako fundamenty na których przedsiębiorstwo nadbudowuje swoją konkurencyjność. W pracy podkreśla się również inwestycję w praktyki istotne z punktu widzenia kluczowych interesariuszy celem zwiększenie efektywności działań CSR rozumianych jako podniesienie konkurencyjności przedsiębiorstwa.

Chodzi tu o wyniki przeprowadzonej na zlecenie KE w 2012 r. analizy makroekonomicznych skutków dyrektywy usługowej. Ponadto, w artykule przedstawiono wyniki oceny stanu wdrożenia dyrektywy usługowej w państwach członkowskich UE. Na tym tle prowadzone są refleksje nad skutecznością działań unijnych w zakresie budowy rynku wewnętrznego usług.

This article presents the results of studies which served as a basis for a Commission programme of further integration in services. It first discusses the estimations of the economic impact of the Services Directive contained in a Commission study (2012) and assessments of actual implementation of this directive into the law of the Member States. The author considers effectiveness issues of EU actions towards a better functioning of the internal market in services.

Background: The Industry 4.0 and Smart Factory concepts have gained recognition in recent years and have caught the attention of many authors, which has been evident in various publications in recent years. However, the authors of the following paper have recognised the need for an analysis of the implementation steps of the aforementioned concepts. The results of this analysis can differ, depending on prevailing conditions in a particular country and the technologies and knowledge available. Methods: On the basis of a literature analysis, the authors of this paper have studied and listed the main requirements for implementing technologies which allow a factory to be described as a Smart Factory. Basic terminology connected with the concept is also described. Results: On the basis of a self-developed evaluation sheet, and an analysis of literature, the authors have stated the criteria according to which a factory can be described as a Smart Factory, and collated them using an evaluation sheet. Conclusion: The authors would like to start a scientific debate on the topic of Smart Factories, and emphasise the need for detailed analysis of each step of implementation. The results of the paper show the advantages and disadvantages of modern management strategies and can be used as a guide for businesses which are considering implementing this technology.

Wstęp: Koncepcje Industry 4.0 i Smart Factory zyskują popularność i znajdują się w obszarze zainteresowań wielu autorów, co potwierdzają publikacje z ostatnich lat. Jednak autorzy poniższej pracy dostrzegli potrzebę szczegółowej analizy etapów implementacji wyżej wymienionych pojęć. Wyniki analizy mogą się różnić w zależności od warunków panujących w danym kraju oraz technologii i dostępności wiedzy. Metody: Na podstawie systematycznego przeglądu literatury, autorzy niniejszego artykułu zbadali i wymienili główne wymagania dotyczące wdrażania technologii, które pozwalają określić fabrykę jako Smart Factory. Omówiono również podstawową terminologię związaną z koncepcją. Wyniki: Na podstawie samodzielnie opracowanego arkusza oceny i analizy literatury autorzy opracowali wskaźniki, którymi powinny cechować się zakłady produkcyjne aspirujące do miana Smart Factory. Wnioski: Autorzy chcieliby rozpocząć naukową debatę na temat Smart Factory i podkreślić potrzebę szczegółowej analizy każdego etapu wdrażania koncepcji. Wyniki pracy wskazują na zbilansowane zalety i wady nowoczesnych strategii zarządzania i mogą być wykorzystane jako podstawa dla środowisk biznesowych, które rozpatrują ich wdrożenie.

W artykule, zostały zaprezentowane najistotniejsze różnice pomiędzy normą ISO 9001: 2015 a ISO 9001: 2008. W pracy wykazano, że zmiany w normie ISO 9001 głównie mają charakter redakcyjny a tylko w niektórych elementach odnoszą się do istoty zarządzania. Najważniejsze zmiany polegają na doprecyzowaniu wymagań dotyczących realizowanych procesów oraz sformułowanie wymagania o uwzględniania ryzyka wystąpienia nieprzewidzianych zdarzeń podczas planowania systemu zarządzania jakością. Z rozważań wynika, że w przypadku organizacji funkcjonujących zgodnie z normą ISO 9001: 2008 i uwzględniających zachodzące zmiany technologiczne i cywilizacyjne wymagania znajdujące się w nowej normie nie spowodują potrzeby ingerencji w funkcjonujące aktualnie systemy zarządzania jakością. W pracy wykazano również, że właściwe wykorzystanie narzędzi tkwiących w normie ISO 9001: 2015 będzie uzależnione, podobnie jak dotychczas od kompetencji kadry kierowniczej i umiejętności personelu niższego szczebla.

In the paper the most important differences between ISO 9001: 2008 and ISO 9001: 2015 are presented. The changes in ISO 9001 standard are mainly editorial. It turnes out that only some of the changes in ISO 9001: 2015 are related to the subject of management. The most important changes relate to undergoing processes and the fact that a number of unpredictable events may occur while planning quality managament system. The organizations that are operating in accordance to ISO 9001: 2008 taking into account technological changes and civilization requirements that are presented in the new standard will not have to adjust their strategy. The paper also shows that the use of tools with ISO 9001: 2015 will depend, as before, on the competence of management and staff skills.

Recent years brought about a dynamic growth of information technologies, improving many areas of company activities. The offer of IT systems for companies is very broad. The purpose of the article is to present research results, showing practical implementation of an ERP class system4 in one company from the automotive industry in Poland. A hypothesis has been verified, stating that implementation of an IT system is a determinant of efficiency of management of business processes, essential from the internal – company’s perspective, as well as the external – customer’s perspective. Conducting research required preparation and verification of complex and interdisciplinary research tools in the form of a scenario of a categorised interview and a survey questionnaire. The survey was conducted among management staff making decisions concerning implementation works, as well as among system users – employees of the warehouse. Implementation of the IT system yields value added in the form of growth in the sales volume, however, an inseparable part accompanying the implementation processes are the appearing system gaps.

Ostatnie lata przyniosły dynamiczny rozwój technologii informacyjnych usprawniających wiele obszarów działaności przedsiębiorstw. Oferta systemów informatycznych dla przedsiębiorstw jest bardzo szeroka. Celem artykułu jest prezentacja wyników badań przedstawiających praktyczne wdrożenie systemu klasy ERP5 w jednym z przedsiębiorstw z branży motoryzacyjnej w Polsce. Poddano weryfikacji hipotezę, że wdrożenie systemu informatycznego jest determinantą sprawności obsługi procesów biznesowych kluczowych z perpektywy wewnętrznej – przedsiębiorstwa i zewnętrznej – klienta. Przeprowadzenie badań wymagało skonstruowania i zweryfikowania rozbudowanych i interdyscyplinarnych narzędzi badawczych w postaci scenariusza wywiadu skategoryzowanego oraz kwestionariusza ankiety. Badania przeprowadzono wśród kadry kierowniczej podejmującej decyzje dotyczące prac wdrożeniowych oraz użytkowników systemu – pracowników magazynu. Wdrożenie systemu informatycznego przynosi wartość dodaną w postaci wzrostu wolumenu sprzedaży, jednak nieodłącznym elementem towarzyszącym procesom wdrażania są pojawiające się luki systemowe.
