The social policy in Poland for a years has been, and still will be determined mainly by two important factors: 1. Aspiration to be included in the civilization process in Europe; 2. Increasing feeling of uncertainty and instability. Importance of these two factors is diverse in terms of social strata and regions. Differentiation of policy is unavoidable. The formulation of universal strategy in terms of social policy related to demographic changes creates a problem of acceptance criteria in the transformation period. The author recommends more strategy options for regions and social groups on the basis of universal values.

Poli­yka społeczna w Polsce była i będzie w najbliższych latach determinowana głównie przez czynniki związane z aspiracjami zmierzającymi do pełnego włączenia w proces cywilizacyjny w Europie oraz z wzrastającym uczuciem niepewności w sprawie zabezpieczenia swej przyszłości. Znaczenie tych czynników jest zróżnicowane w poszczególnych grupach społecznych i regionach. Wskazuje to na celowość większego zróżnicowania polityki społecznej. Sformułowanie uniwersalnej strategii w warunkach zmian demograficznych rodzi problem akceptacji. Większa swoboda regionów stwarza możliwość dostosowania polityki w regionach do sytuacji poszczególnych grup ludności na podstawie uniwersalnych zasad.
