Wiedza ekonomiczna jest ściśle związana z pojęciem edukacji ekonomicznej. W opracowaniu stwierdzono, że edukacja ekonomiczna, w tym finansowa, w sposób istotny zwiększa świadomość i kompetencje młodego pokolenia. Podjętym problemem badawczym jest analiza czynnika wiedzy ekonomicznej jako jednego z podstawowych determinantów wzrostu świadomości finansowej młodego pokolenia – studentów kończących wyższe uczelnie województwa opolskiego. Konstrukcja tekstu została podporządkowana hipotezie, w myśl której istnieje zależność we wzroście świadomości i kompetencji studentów w zarządzaniu własnymi finansami w obecnym, stale zmieniającym się otoczeniu. Niniejszy problem jest realizowany za pomocą analizy stanu wiedzy ekonomicznej studentów wyższych uczelni opolskich na temat poszczególnych obszarów ekonomicznych. Zastosowana metoda badawcza to anonimowy kwestionariusz ankiety, skierowany w sposób bezpośredni za pośrednictwem ankieterów do studentów studiów stacjonarnych i niestacjonarnych I i II stopnia.

When dealing with the problem it was found that financial education increases substantially the economic knowledge to build awareness and competence of the younger generation and therefore the dissemination of this knowledge. The aim of this paper is to identify the importance of the knowledge economy in the growth of building awareness and competence of management of finance students in the current, constantly changing environment. The structure of the paper was subjected to the hypothesis according to which there is a relationship between the knowledge economy and an increase in the awareness and competence of the young generation in achieving financial stability and their independence. This problem will be implemented using the analysis of the state of the economic knowledge of university students in Opole about individual economic areas. The method applied in the research is an anonymous questionnaire survey addressed directly to students, desktop study of the first and second degree.
