In this article, on the example of the village Swołowo, issues dedicated to protection of rusticity in the rural countryside of Pomerania were presented. Swołowo is one of the most interesting historical village in Pomerania, considered as the European Cultural Heritage Village. Buildings of Swołowo is a model example of Pomeranian oval shape villages, whose foundation took place in the early Middle Ages. Swołowo symbolically called the capital of the Checked House Region. The Checked House Region is the area of Pomerania where the dominant element of the rural landscape is preserved eighteenth and nineteenth century frame construction. The village is a specific model pattern. There were various actions taken that caused promoting the Checked House Region. A chance for the revival of the village Swołowo was cultural tourism in connection with the activities of the Middle Pomerania Museum in Słupsk. The aim of the study was to present specific measures for the protection of the material cultural heritage of the village Swołowo, which currently affects a significant impact on its development. Cultural values Swołowo allow him to function as a center of regional and national tourism and predispose the village for the function of international importance center.

W artykule, na przykładzie wsi Swołowo, podjęto problematykę poświęconą ochronie, szeroko rozumianej „wiejskości” w krajobrazie wsi Pomorza. Podjęcie tematyki badawczej uzasadniają zarówno względy poznawcze, jak i praktyczne. Swołowo to jedna z najciekawszych historycznie wsi na Pomorzu, uznana za Europejską Wieś Dziedzictwa Kulturowego. Zabudowa miejscowości to wzorcowy przykład pomorskich owalnic, których planowe zakładanie odbywało się we wczesnym średniowieczu. Celem opracowania jest zaprezentowanie konkretnych działań, służących ochronie materialnego dziedzictwa kulturowego wsi Swołowo, które w sposób znaczący wpływają obecnie na jej rozwój. Walory kulturowe Swołowa pozwalają mu pełnić funkcję ośrodka turystyki regionalnej i krajowej oraz predysponują wieś do pełnienia funkcji ośrodka o znaczeniu międzynarodowym.

The aim of the article is to describe selected aspects of rurality in the contemporary cultural landscape of Kraków. Four aspects traditionally associated with the rural landscape were analyzed: rural settlement systems, toponymy, land use and agriculture, and selected elements of folk culture. Attention was given both to manifestations of rurality visible in material forms and elements constituting intangible heritage. The article raises the issue of the multidimensional character of this phenomenon and the need for interdisciplinary research in this field.

Celem artykułu jest charakterystyka wybranych aspektów wiejskości uwidaczniających się we współczesnym krajobrazie kulturowym Krakowa. Analizie poddano cztery aspekty tradycyjnie związane z krajobrazem wsi: wiejskie układy osadnicze, toponimię, użytkowanie gruntów i rolnictwo oraz wybrane elementy kultury ludowej. Zwrócono uwagę zarówno na przejawy wiejskości uwidaczniające się w formie materialnej, jak i stanowiące elementy dziedzictwa niematerialnego. W artykule pod-niesiono kwestię wielowymiarowości tego zjawiska i potrzebę interdyscyplinarnych badań w tej dziedzinie.
