The paper investigates the impact of age and cohort on social activity in Poland together with the impact of age groups on the role of other factors affecting social activity using data from Diagnoza Społeczna and Survey on Health, Ageing and Retirement in Europe. No significant impact of age on social activity is found in the panel sample. The negative impact of relevant factors on social activity is more pronounced in higher age groups, whereas the positive impact is less pronounced except for income that plays a bigger role in larger ages.

W artykule zbadano wpływ wieku i kohorty na aktywność społeczną Polaków oraz to, jak zmienia się wpływ czynników istotnych dla aktywności społecznej wraz ze zmianą grupy wiekowej na podstawie danych Diagnozy Społecznej oraz badania Survey on Health, Ageing and Retirement in Europe. Nie zaobserwowano istotnego wpływu wieku na aktywność społeczną w próbie panelowej, ale wyniki badania wskazują na istotne znaczenie kohorty. W starszych grupach wiekowych wzrasta znaczenie czynników niesprzyjających aktywności społecznej, a spada znaczenie czynników sprzyjających aktywności społecznej, z wyjątkiem dochodu, którego rola wzrasta.
