The article presents General Professor Elżbieta Zawacka’s (1925-2009) life, especially during the Second World War, and the history and goals of the Generał Elżbieta Zawacka Foundation in Toruń. The holdings of this Foundation are characterized, especially the sources concerning the Women’ Military Service during the Second World War.
