Wartościowanie edukacyjnych osiągnięć uczniów od zawsze stanowiło przedmiot często toczonych dyskusji, a ocena szkolna w zależności od swojej postaci i systemu, na podstawie którego była konstruowana, pozostawała obiektem albo pedagogicznej apoteozy, albo ogólnie przyjętej, powszechnej i wnikliwej krytyki. Na przestrzeni ostatnich lat szkoła jako instytucjonalna placówka realizująca proces kształcenia poddana została głębokiej transformacji, obejmującej jeśli nie całą, to przynajmniej znaczną część praktyki jej funkcjonowania. W obliczu wspomnianych zmian i przeobrażeń uzasadniona wydaje się refleksja nad procesem oceniania uczniów realizowanym w praktyce edukacyjnej szkoły, w szczególności w kontekście postulatów, jakie pod adresem dydaktycznego pomiaru osiągnięć kierują współczesne nauki o wychowaniu.

The evaluation of students’ educational achievements has always been a subject of discussion, while the school grade, depending on the character and the system basis of which it was constructed, remains a subject of apotheosis or thorough criticism. In recent years the school, as an institutional institution realizing the educational process, has undergone a profound transformation, including if not all, then at least a significant part of the practice of its functioning. In the face of these changes and transformations it seems to be warranted to reflect on the process of assessing pupils realized in educational school practice, particular in the context of demands which contemporary educational sciences direct at the educational measurement.
