Niejednokrotnie osoby odpowiedzialne za przewóz towarów lekceważą limit nałożony na dopuszczalną masę całkowitą pojazdu, dążąc do maksymalizacji zysków. Należy jednak pamiętać o kosztach napraw pojazdów uszkodzonych na jezdniach zniszczonych przez przeciążone ciężarówki oraz, w szczególności, o ogromnych kosztach ponoszonych przez podatników w celu ochrony środowiska naturalnego. Kluczową kwestią staje się edukacja młodych osób.

Often people responsible for the transport of products disregard the limit imposed on the permissible laden mass of the vehicle, seeking to maximize profits. However, they should be aware of the costs of repairing vehicles after using roads damaged by overloaded trucks and, in particular, of the huge costs incurred by taxpayers in order to protect the environment. It becomes crucial to educate young people.

W artykule zaprezentowano przykład komputerowego wspomagania dydaktyki w zakresie kształcenia kultury technicznej w ramach przedmiotu zajęć technicznych. Program zasadniczo adresowany jest do odbiorcy z klas IV–VI szkoły podstawowej, jakkolwiek jego przeznaczenie do wykorzystania w edukacji dorosłych uczestników ruchu drogowego jest oczywiste w realiach naszego kraju. Zaproponowany w materiale program komputerowy jest odpowiedzią na zidentyfikowany problem związany z przeciążaniem samochodów ciężarowych. Znaczenie społeczne poruszanego zagadnienia jest istotne z uwagi na powszechność występowania tego zjawiska oraz wysokie koszty społeczne związane z koniecznością restytucji infrastruktury drogowej

In the paper an example of computer assistance in teaching in the field of technical culture education as a part of the technical classes is presented. The program is addressed to classes IV–VI of the elementary school, however, it is obvious that in the realities of our country it is also necessary for educating adult traffic participants. Program proposed in this material is an answer to the identified problem connected with the overloaded lorries. The social importance of the touched subject is significant, due to the commonness of such phenomenon, as well as the high social costs associated with the necessity of the road infrastructure restitution.

In the Persecution and the Art of Writing (1952) Leo Strauss criticized the replace-ment of philosophical enquiry in youth education with history of philosophy and of philosophers with specialists in certain scientific fields. Contemporary calls for a “glob-al social contract” (Philippe Moreau Defarges, 2010) emphasize the need of reforming international institutions and the importance of a youth education “for” sustainable development (UNESCO Decade of Education for Sustainable Development 2005–2014). Philosophical voices decry the ever-growing importance of institutions at the expense of individual freedom of expression and action. The article explores common points and differences between our ideal of sustainable development and the Straussian ideal of creative philosophical thought.
