Lower Silesia is an unique region because of its multiculturalism and economic inequalities. The current Lower Silesia diversity have arisen in a long time. Post-war public policy towards regained territories did not lead to its desired cohesion. The aim of the article is to assess main strategic document of Lower Silesia local government (The Lower Silesia Voivodeship Development Strategy 2020) from regional social policy viewpoint. Specification of social tasks in such strategy is essential to improve social cohesion in Lower Silesia.

Dolny Śląsk jest regionem wyjątkowym ze względu na jego wielokulturowość oraz nierówności ekonomiczne. Obecne dysproporcje kształtowały się przez długi okres. Powojenna polityka wobec ziem odzyskanych nie doprowadziła do ich pożądanej spójności. Celem artykułu jest dokonanie oceny podstawowego dokumentu strategicznego dolnośląskiego samorządu – Strategii Rozwoju Województwa Dolnośląskiego 2020 z punktu widzenia regionalnej polityki społecznej. Wskazanie zadań społecznych w tego rodzaju strategii ma zasadnicze znaczenie dla poprawy spójności społecznej Dolnego Śląska.
