The implementation of national security policy objectives is to ensure the security of citizens, the rights and fundamental freedom, democratic order in the country, as well as to create uninterrupted conditions for civilization and economic development. Present international security environment is dynamic and often significantly affects, and even interferes with the constitutional order and security of citizens. The essence of changes involves shifting the focus from conventional threats to asymmetric threats. There are new threats in the region due to the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, a constant threat is international terrorism associated with cross-border crime, moreover, globalization has brought financial crisis. Poland is trying to accurately read these processes, interpret and react flexibly. This effort shall be borne by both the state and the nation.

Realizacja założeń polityki bezpieczeństwa państwa służy zapewnieniu bezpieczeństwa obywatelom, praw i podstawowych wolności oraz demokratycznego porządku w kraju, stworzeniu niezakłóconych warunków do cywilizacyjnego i gospodarczego rozwoju. Współczesne środowisko bezpieczeństwa międzynarodowego jest dynamiczne i często w istotny sposób wpływa na porządek konstytucyjny i bezpieczeństwo obywateli, a nawet je zakłóca. Istota zmian polega na przesuwaniu się punktu ciężkości z zagrożeń klasycznych na zagrożenia asymetryczne. Pojawiają się nowe zagrożenia w regionie spowodowane konfliktem rosyjsko-ukraińskim, stałym zagrożeniem jest terroryzm międzynarodowy powiązany z przestępczością transgraniczną, a globalizacja przyniosła nam kryzys finansowy. Polska stara się procesy te trafnie odczytywać, interpretować i elastycznie na nie reagować. Ten wysiłek ponosi zarówno państwo, jak i naród.
