The aim of this article is to describe the neosemantism subskrypcja (and its derivatives) in the Polish language. The description consists in juxtaposing the hitherto meanings of the word (derived from the Universal Dictionary of Polish (USJP)) with new meanings, derived mainly from the Internet, and with selected definitions of the corresponding English word (a subscription). The frequency of the word along with its derivatives in Polish is also analysed (using the corpus-based research method). The findings show that the frequency of the discussed word and its derivative forms is growing, they are found in more and more new contexts, and their development in Polish is multi directional. This article presents also a brief normative commentary on the described innovations. This is because the discussed words are often overused and their new usages do not always seem purposeful.

Celem artykułu jest opis neosemantyzmu subskrypcja (oraz wyrazów pochodnych) w polszczyźnie. Opis polega na zestawieniu dotychczasowych znaczeń słowa (zaczerpniętych z USJP) ze znaczeniami nowymi, zaczerpniętymi głównie z sieci Internet, a także z wybranymi definicjami odpowiadającego mu słowa angielskiego (subscription). Analizowana jest także częstość słowa wraz z derywatami w polszczyźnie (metodą badań korpusowych). Uzyskane wyniki wskazują, że częstość omawianego wyrazu i jego form pochodnych rośnie, stale pojawiają się w nowych kontekstach użycia, a ich rozwój w polszczyźnie przebiega wielotorowo. Artykuł przedstawia również krótki komentarz normatywny dotyczący opisywanych innowacji. Omawiane słowa są bowiem nierzadko nadużywane, a ich nowe użycia nie zawsze wydają się celowe.

Przedmiotem artykułu jest rozwój semantyczny wyrazów premiera i premierowy. Większość słowników języka polskiego odnotowuje tylko jedno znaczenie leksemu premiera ‘pierwsze przedstawienie utworu dramatycznego; także: wyświetlenie po raz pierwszy nowego filmu’. Premierowy jest definiowany jako ‘przymiotnik od premiera’. Okazuje się jednak, że we współczesnej polszczyźnie te dwa wyrazy funkcjonują w nowych znaczeniach. Premiera bywa używana do nazwania jakichkolwiek czynności i rzeczy wykonywanych po raz pierwszy. Wyraz ma także znaczenie przedmiotowe: ‘obiekt po raz pierwszy pokazany publicznie lub wystawiony na sprzedaż; nowość’. Premierowy to ‘zajmujący w pewnym ciągu lub porządku miejsce, które można opisać, używając liczby 1; pierwszy’, ‘najlepszy, najważniejszy, przewyższający inne pod jakimś względem’, ‘taki, który powstał niedawno; nowy’, ‘taki, który zastępuje coś poprzednio spełniającego daną funkcję; nowy’. Neosemantyzacja tych leksemów to zapewne rezultat oddziaływania języka angielskiego, ale niewykluczony jest też rozwój semantyczny na gruncie rodzimym.

The subject of the article is the semantic development of the words "premiera" and "premierowy". Most dictionaries of the Polish language note only one meaning of the lexeme "premiera": ‘the first performance of a dramatic work; also: the first screening of a new film’. "Premierowy" is defined as an ‘adjective from the premiere’. It turns out, however, that in the contemporary Polish language these two words function in new meanings. "Premiera" is sometimes used to name any activities and things performed for the first time. The word also has an objective meaning: ‘object first shown publicly or put up for sale; novelty’. "Premierowy" is, inter alia ‘occupying in a certain order or place a position that can be described using the number 1; first’, ‘the best, the most important, superior to others in some way’, ‘one that has recently been created; new’, ‘the one that replaces something previously fulfilling a given function; new’. The semantic development of these lexemes is probably the result of the influence of English, but semantic changes in Polish are also possible.
