Celem artykułu było ukazanie funkcjonowania zasad na rynku zawodu doradztwa finansowego w wybranych krajach europejskich. Unia Europejska nie posiada jednolitych regulacji prawnych, które obejmowałyby kompleksowo wszystkie kraje wspólnoty. Dlatego tworzone są międzynarodowe organizacje, która skupiają doradców z poszczególnych krajów. Takie postępowanie jest z jednej strony szansą dla branży do niczym nie skrępowanego rozwoju, a z drugiej istnieje systemowe i indywidualne ryzyko dla klienta, spowodowane niską jakością świadczonych usług. Jednak w państwach posiadających dłuższą historie doradztwa dokonywane są reformy przeprowadzane przez państwowe organy nadzoru. Takie postępowanie staje się koniecznością, aby zawód ten stał się istotny oraz mógł cieszyć się zaufaniem.

Financial advice due to the continuous development and changes in the financial market, becomes increasingly needed profession. Cooperation with the advisor enables efficient and effective financial management for both businesses and individuals. The homeland of the financial advice could be the US, where in the 70s of last century there had created an association dealing with the ethical principles of financial advisors. Financial advice, as a young profession, is still waiting for important changes. In the European Union there is no uniform law that would regulate this profession. More developed markets (United Kingdom, Germany, the Netherlands), due to the appropriate reforms, have led to the development of the profession. It is the principle that independent financial advice exists only when the adviser is paid by the customer.
