Wiadomości zamieszczane na stronie internetowej Deutsche Welle są dobrym materiałem uzupełniającym na zajęciach z praktycznej nauki języka niemieckiego na studiach germanistycznych. Pozwalają na rozwijanie umiejętności językowych i komunikacyjnych (znajomość leksyki, rozumienie tekstów, wypowiadanie się w języku niemieckim) oraz umiejętności uniwersalnych – kultury czytelniczej, dociekliwości, niezależności myślenia. To ważne, by studenci ćwiczyli się w roli świadomego i krytycznego czytelnika także wtedy, gdy mają do czynienia z tekstami obcojęzycznymi.

The news placed on the website of Deutsche Welle are good additional material for Practical German Classes in German Philology Department. They allow the development of language and communicative skills (the knowledge of lexis, understanding of texts, speaking skills) and universal skills like reading culture, inquisitiveness, independence of thinking. It is important that the students practise the role of conscious and critical thinking, also in the situation when they approach foreign texts.

The process of teaching oral skills in German should include the practice of reading aloud. One of the important aspects of this process, requiring special attention, is the use of correct intonation. Practising reading aloud aims at developing listening skills, imitation and individual vocal interpretation of written texts.

W ramach praktycznej nauki języka niemieckiego należy ćwiczyć głośne czytanie. Jednym z ważnych aspektów wymagającym, przy tej okazji, uwagi jest poprawna intonacja. Ćwiczenia w głośnym czytaniu ukierunkowane są na słuchanie, imitację mowy oraz na własną interpretację głosową tekstów.

The present article attempts to analyse the usefulness of oral presentations in developing the students’ ability of expressing themselves in German. The discussion of the above issue concerns not only the advantages of employing oral presentations as an important form of activity during Practical German classes but also the kind of difficulties that students encounter while performing such complex tasks as planning and giving oral presentations in German in front of an audience. On the other hand, from the language teaching perspective, identifying learners’ difficulties in a given area is the first step to overcoming them or at least partly eliminating them. Thus, the present article also includes suggestions for specific classroom activities and tasks that focus on improving the effectiveness of the process of preparing and giving oral presentations in German.

Der vorliegende Artikel dient der Reflexion über die Eignung des Referats zur Entwicklung des mündlichen Ausdrucks im Germanistikstudium. Neben Argumenten für die Berücksichtigung dieser wichtigen Aufgabenform im sprachpraktischen Deutschunterricht, umfasst das genannte Thema auch Schwierigkeiten, auf die Studenten stoßen, die vor einer so komplexen Aufgabe, wie das Vorbereiten und Präsentieren des Referats stehen. Dabei wird das Ansprechen der Schwierigkeiten aus der Perspektive der Didaktik als erster Schritt zu ihrer Beseitigung oder zumindest teilweiser Überwindung angesehen. Daher enthält der Artikel auch Übungs- und Aufgabenvorschläge zur optimalen Vorbereitung und Präsentation des Referats.

The article discusses the question of using news websites in teaching German as a foreign language to students of German philology. The article encourages reflection on the usefulness of texts available on-line as teaching materials and presents some practical solutions aimed at developing speaking skills at an advanced level of proficiency in a foreign language.

Porozumienie w sytuacjach spornych wymaga dialogu, natomiast dialog wymaga trudu zapanowania nad sobą i zwrócenia się wraz ze współrozmówcą ku rozwiązaniu problemu. Racjonalna argumentacja to droga, po której razem mogą iść rozmówcy, nawet mocno różniący się w swoich zapatrywaniach. Ćwiczenia w dyskutowaniu i argumentowaniu w ramach praktycznej nauki języka niemieckiego na studiach germanistycznych przynoszą podwójną korzyść: doskonalenie umiejętności wypowiadania się w nauczanym języku i zaszczepianie studentom uniwersalnej wartości, jaką jest kultura porozumiewania się.

Understanding in conflicting situations requires dialogue which in turn requires the effort of controlling oneself and of turning, together with the person one is speaking to, towards a solution of the problem. Rational Argumentation is the way to follow for both interlocutors, however different their views might be. Discussion and argumentation practice during Practical German classes for German Dapartment students have a double benefit: perfecting their conversation skills and imparting to them the universal value of the culture of communication.
