The article is a compilation of empiric research outcomes relating to pedagogical influence of educational function of art (as social readjustment mean) on the sentenced people. The research was carried out in 2003-2004 in seven penitentiaries. The presented theory and analysis refer to one of the most important determinants describing the readiness of the condemned for pro-social changes. As the research results show, the level of prisoners' sense of life is rather low but the level of creatively active ones distinguish them positively from among their companions.
