This article is concentrated on the activity of town services in Gorzów Wielkopolski. Additional subjects are: public transport, postal and communication services, and road traffic. Drifts about health service are not included in this article, because they are greatly researched by Andrzej Marciniak, who discusses them in the .Nadwarcianski Historical and Archival Annual'. This research concerns only the town of Gorzów Wielkopolski, without the neighbourhood. Chronologically it is situated in Polish Stalinism (the years 1948-1956). At that time the activity of the discussed institutions was not as provisional as right after the war. But later these institutions and objects did not function well either. Above all, the six-year plan period was quite stable for the activity of public institutions, with a great advantage to the citizens of the town. The author wishes to emphasize that this article is not comprehensive. It is an attempt at answering the question: What problems could the citizens of Gorzów have in the field of using municipal public utility institutions, which should make their lives easier?
